Before buying my 25 Maverick I was driving an 08 Escape using a Bluetooth connected garmin. Got to relying on that darn speed limit icon. Now I have a compass, but I have to search for actual road signs. Anyone have any ideas on how to get back a speed limit icon?...... I'm not hooking back up that old garmin!

Not that it was always correct but I miss my actual speed and speed limit display from my Garmin days too. What's frustrating is that when I use my Pixel phone in either of my vehicles without Bluetooth it shows up on the phones Google Maps display. Have read there's a way to turn it on in with Android Auto settings but have not been able to find it.

The Waze app shows the speed limit. Google maps does also however I believe Google maps only shows it when you are navigating to a destination. So if you just leave maps open I don't believe it will show the speed limit.

It should be on the lower left part of your main screen it shows the speed limit for the roads your on

I know you could get speed limit recognition on the dash with the 22-24 Mavericks using Forscan, not sure if the 25s can or not.
My 2024 EB Lariat has the speed limits w/o forscan (though I find they are not always accurate and on rare occasions they don't show at all), but only when you have the screen set to full for Navigation (if my memory serves me correctly). If they aren't showing, I just find a place to pull over to shut everything down, then restart. Just another glitch... lol

My '25 Lariat has that feature, but it doesn't work all the time (doesn't detect school zones in my case -which might be kinda important).

Around here they have started installing speed cameras in school zones and people are losing their minds. They only send you a ticket if you are going 11 over the limit and people claim that it "violates their rights." An acquaintance of mine got a ticket for doing 40 in a 25 school zone and complained. My reply to her was have your grandchild walk across the road in front of you next time and see if you think you need to slow down.

Yup. There is a really easy way to avoid those speed camera tickets. Don’t speed.

You are correct. You have to set a destination. If you use the Ford nav, speed limit is there all the time.

requirement to set a destination must be a "2025 feature" as it is there without setting a destination on my 2024.

Guess that's the trick to get the speed limit to display for the 2025s. Just tried and it only shows if I set a destination but I want it to be visible anytime I'm out driving around. Makes no sense to have it limited that way.

gosh, my wife's '25 lariat over detects them!

I understand that it doesn't have a good way to process "when children are present", but the warning blinking goes off. And I don't think Maverick does it, but there are some f-150 modes that reduce speed in response to signs--which could produce sudden and hard unexpected braking!

I believe at this point all of the auto-issue ones have been struck down. A human of some level of training must make the actual decision.
