It's past $5,000 but it seems like they've found all the damage there is to find, but the initial estimate was definitely optimistic.

Truck was returned to me today (went in March 28, returned June 23) and it's looking good! Final bill was $5,715 for repairs. The work was performed by Caliber Collision in Lemoyne, PA and I'm very satisfied with the customer service and quality of the repair. The bill went to my insurance so I got hit with a $1,000 deductible for it, I may see that returned after subrogation. Getting a check for diminished value from Progressive is next up.

Looks good. I know you're glad to be (mostly) done fooling with this. Now it's time to enjoy your Maverick.

So all, I was messing around in the garage and upon driving out noticed something.
When I hit the brake pedal the brake lights come on but after a bit of a delay. Also when letting off the pedal the lights stay on for a bit as well. Saw this in the mirror and reflections in the garage.
My theory is that when you step on the brake the signal has to be sent to the bcm, processed as pedal stepped on then sends signal to lights to turn them on.
It might be happening fast but maybe not fast enough to keep us from being tagged from the back.
Just my assessment and theory. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Check for yourselves, see what you think. I’m an old school driver and used to just hitting the pedal, closing the circuit and boom lights come on. Too much tech sometimes is too much.
This is why many owners opt for LED replacement bulbs for the rear. The LEDs have a faster response time. IF YOU CAN FIND ONES THAT WORK WITHOUT ISSUE.

Getting a check for diminished value from Progressive is next up.
Progressive says I need documentation to prove diminished value (DV).

I tried asking my own insurance to give me a quote for what they would give for DV were the roles reversed and they said they couldn't do that unless it were an actual claim.

I then sent an email to my dealership asking if they could give me a quote for the selling difference between a 2025 Mav with a clean carfax and one with a minor collision on it and they haven't responded so far.

I'd rather not go to an estimator and pay a few hundred bucks for a DV estimate on the likely chance that Progressive continues to foot drag and under-evaluate claims.

So I'm treading water at the moment. I'll be over by the dealership later this week and I'll pop in and ask directly.

Get a sell quote from Carvana with no accident damage then 1 from Carmax with the damage reported. Not sure if offers to buy would prove the case. Good luck.
Attempted this, those sites indicate the vehicle requires an in-person inspection for valuation.

Everytime someone throws out the words, 'Don't forget diminished value'. These are the hoops, I imagined one would have to jump through.
Good luck.

I found some documentation from the NAIC regarding standard DV claim payouts in percentage relation to the cost of repairs and quoted that along with my repair invoice total. Sent those over to the Progressive claim handler, so we'll see what happens next. Most likely they'll prevaricate some more but who knows. A few hundred or thousand dollars in DV is worth an hour or two spent fooling around with this. So far it's just a few emails and a bit of online research.

Progressive called back today and denied the DV claim. They essentially said that the car would actually need to be up for sale for them to even consider paying out. They would also need to see documentation that a lower value was actually received after the sale because of the collision history.

Subrogation is ongoing.

Front and rear dashcam footage of the incident, audio stripped to avoid a copyright strike on youtube.
