I want one but I don't want to mount it on the b pillar (because of the new design) nor do I want it above or below the door handle. Being a hybrid I can't put it in my fuel door - I guess I could if I wanted to use the emergency release to access it but knowing Ford that emergency access doesn't have more than a few tugs in it before it snaps.
You are halfway there. You know every place you DON'T want or can NOT mount it.

I bought the wireless keypad for my 2024 Lariat thinking it was going to be a simple install. To have the keypad programmed at the local dealer they wanted to charge minimum of one hour shop charge ($200.00). It’s not worth the money to have it installed, now I’m stuck with a useless keypad.

I put mine in the fuel door. Works great.

IDK seems like it could be risky mounting it inside the fuel door. I know it is just low voltage battery in the keypad, but any kind of electric arc possibly could ignite the fuel vapors trapped in the fuel door.

If you order online the install cost is $56, and you get a 15% discount on the keypad.

477-536 °F is the ignition temp of gasoline vapors. These use CR2032 button cell batteries. No chance that does anything.

The only concern are the vapors affecting the plastic. Which I'm OK with. They're designed to be baking in the sun so it'll be OK. If not I'll buy a new one. They're cheap and too ugly to keep on the outside.

I talked them into programming mine but not mounting it, they seemed reluctant to do it bit I am not sure where I am going to mount it yet. In another thread a member mounted it on top of the bed rail behind the rear window, looks like a good spot.

We use our keypads so much. Still don't know why Ford got rid of them.

OBVIOUSLY, the demand wasn't/isn't there. Also, I have been told they are easily read by RF readers.
