I just did my first oil change and tire rotation on my 24 EB Lariat at the dealer. I too changed at 5k not the 10k interval. the dealer has a 'deal' called the works that does both for $88 but w tax and disposal fees it comes out a bit over $100. I was able to use my ford points to cover the cost. Check your points in the FordPass app. The one thing that bothered me is the dealer used blended synthetic not full. I have a local shop that will do the same thing for less and uses full synthetic which I plan to use too. I wanted to establish some history w the dealer just in case I have mechanical issues in the future. BTW I love my little truck!

That's the special that the OP stated he missed.
This must be a special they are always running as I have been using this dealer here in central MA for the "Works" appx every 10,000 miles (or 10% oil life remaining) since my 2020 Escape and have never paid more than 80 something. This time it was at appx 10,000, though oil life was still in the low 20% area. Escape would normally be down to 10% around 9500. Before I switch to full synthetic, I was paying just under 50.00. I was their a bit longer than I expected, but they were trying to find an air leak (between the dash and the door on the passenger side). Passenger feels a really cold air leak in the winter. May have to wait till next winter as tough to find when it is not frigid. lol Truck has just over 12,000 miles in appx 7 month.

Dealerships being private businesses, are in charge of their own specials, prices and how often they advertise them.

In all fairness, I perhaps I should have broken it down a bit. And there were 3 service offerings, I chose the cheapest option, and it totaled $190 not $200 as follows:

Labor $75
Waste Fee $1.72
Filter $11.80
Oil $55.74
PM*44*A 44K $34.46 (had to look that up, some kind of injector cleaner)
Washer solvent $3.65
Tax $8.19

I took a pass on some services now classified as 'postponed':
Engine Crankcase Cleaning
180 day comp roadside care
Premium engine oil conditioner
Premium fuel system conditioners

I just let this one roll. I may have been able to say 'just oil and filter' please, since manufacture says first service 10K. As I waited, it was just under 2 1/2 hours. But don't know tech actual start and stop times.

It'll take me a year to 'use' this oil, and I'll likely be just over 10K. Since that's an official factory service interval I'll likely go back. At 75 I'm not interested in changing my own oil any more. But I will shop services before landing.

Appreciate all the comments, Thanks!

This sounds like the big dealership near my house. Won't go back. I drive an extra 15 minutes (2 towns away) to a smaller old line dealership. Oldest dealership in MA and still family owned. Went into big dealership for a new valve stem once... Said they could take it right away... 2 hours later they called me to the desk. Had to order the part. WTF... no valve stems for a 2020 Escape? Had to come back the next day. $200 dollars later and another 2+ hours and I had my new valve stem. Went to my local tire place (probably the larges tire dealer in New England) and had the other 3 replaced a couple weeks later then another failed. Around 100 for 3.

Would I be correct in assuming that these weren't just valve stems, but they were actually TPMS sensors?

Lol just did my oil change. $30 worth of oil, $7 filter.
Does the Mav have a panel under the engine/trans?

I have been doing all of my oil changes for the last....well never mind - a VERY LONG time. I haven't been able to look under my Mav (hurt my back) but I had to ask about the panel.
I know the Honda I had used 14 screws to attach the panel which had to be removed to get at the drain & filter, plus it was only $30 bucks so I let them do it.

I used to rotate the tires and write the date and new location on the back side of the tire.
The LOBO tires are HUGE - not sure I could lift then onto the lugs anymore (I'm 79 y/o). Thinking of getting one of those hydraulic tire lifters they use to move vehicles around.

Yes.
Large enough to be held on by 15 screws.

There is actually an every 6 months service called out - they at least hit that, and more.

Now, for like the coolant check - supposed to be for strength, not just filled. I'd ask what was the figure for that.
Same as brake fluid for water, what %. Year 2 or 3 may matter more.
And the battery performance test results. Month 6 or 7 may matter more.

Depending on how you read the below - the muiltipoint inspection should be with the 10K scheduled service interval, or maybe this 6 month interval. "every scheduled maintenance interval"

Owner Checks and Services
Make sure you perform the following basic maintenance checks and inspections every month or at six-month intervals.

Check Every Month
Engine oil level.
Function of all interior and exterior lights.
Tires, including spare, for wear and proper pressure.
Windshield washer fluid level.

Check Every Six Months
Battery connections. Clean if necessary.
Body and door drain holes for obstructions. Clean if necessary.
Cooling system fluid level and coolant strength.
Door weatherstrips for wear. Lubricate if necessary.
Hinges, latches and outside locks for proper operation. Lubricate if necessary.
Parking brake for proper operation.
Seatbelts and seat latches for wear and function.
Safety warning lamps (brake, ABS, airbag and seatbelt) for operation.
Washer spray and wiper operation. Clean or replace blades as necessary.

Multi-Point Inspection
In order to keep your vehicle running right, it is important to have the systems on your vehicle checked regularly. This can help identify potential issues and prevent major problems. We recommend having the following multi-point inspection performed at every scheduled maintenance interval to help make sure your vehicle keeps running great.

Multi-Point Inspection
Accessory drive belt(s) Hazard warning system operation
Battery performance Horn operation
Engine air filter Radiator, cooler, heater and air conditioning hoses
Exhaust system Suspension components for leaks or damage
Exterior lamps operation Steering and linkage
Fluid levels 1; fill if necessary Tires, including spare, for wear and proper pressure 2
For oil and fluid leaks Windshield for cracks, chips or pits
Half-shaft dust boots Washer spray and wiper operation

1 Brake, coolant recovery reservoir, automatic transmission and window washer.

Just for comparisons sake....I am having the lower control arms replaced on my wife's 2018 Odyssey at my local mechanic.

Honda quoted $1,700 for both control arms. He is doing it for $820.

My 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid has 5,300 miles on it and I said to him that I am an avid member on MTC and that there are reports of blackened and short filled PTU and RDU fluids and how much would he charge to drain and refill both, and rotate my tires for me while doing it?

He said, "Does $100 sound fair?"

"Sure...I'll pay a little more if you'll measure what comes out vs. what goes in and take a picture of the break in fluid?"

"Yep. $100"

EDIT: Granted it might not be just $100 if for not doing the control arms (and a bunch of other work) on ultra reliable (heavy sarcasm) Hondas and Subarus over the years. Doesn't mean going the extra mile to measure what comes out and take photos of what does - that is the difference to me. I'd pay twice as much because of his service.

Hope I'm doing as well at 79! only 5 to go! :)

I thought the Mav had 16 screws on the bottom panel covering the filter. One of the reasons I didn't want to go to my usual quick change place. Not sure they would get it right.

For tire rotates, my previous Silverado tires were too heavy for me unless I sat down and used my legs to help lift them onto the rotors. Always used jack stands so wasn't worried about having my legs under the truck.

From several posts I've seen - the dealer techs have been just as good as quick lube places in putting those screws back.
And stripping them out.

Several DIY's have mentioned the same.

Lol just did my oil change. $30 worth of oil, $7 filter.
You can get that down to around $25 total using supertech 0w20 and buying FL910s filters as a case of 12.

I question why I am crawling under vehicles to do oil changes a little more with every passing year, but most cities do at least have a local quick lube place that is fairly trustworthy and fair on prices. All the other checks the dealer does is kinda nice on paper, but considering how hard the techs there are pressed to get vehicles through the door, I really doubt most of them are actually done besides quick visual inspections.
