Paint chip repair

I have a minor paint chip on the hood. I am considering using a clear nail enamel to seal the chip. I don't want to use touchup paint is it is too messy. Any thoughts???

I used https://scratcheshappen.com/ for some cosmetic hood scratches, worked great. I'm sure I'll end up using more of this in time too as life happens. Color was a perfect match.

I'd say it's worth getting the combo too (Paint + Clear Coat + Primer).

I will second this recommendation. I bought the combo kit and the touch up color match was perfect.

I've used nail polish,it works well,the hardest part is getting a close color match.

As these are very small, I'm going to use a clear nail polish just to seal to avoid rust.

I think the hood is made of aluminum, which doesn't rust.
