I-45 in Houston has plenty of rocks and debris due to road construction. One hit my Mav's windshield this month and caused a chip about dime-sized. It did not crack past that. Wish I took a pic but did not.
Checked YouTube reviews and used a Blue Star Windshield Repair Kit following all directions. I did the repair in the shade then moved my truck into the sun to cure. I've got to say that I'm impressed with the results and recommend this product for small rock chips like mine.
For under $15 (Amazon and others) you can do your own repair with excellent results. Not perfect as there is still a small mark but I'm pleased with my end product. If you've got a better product let us all know as more windshields are going to get chipped!
Mileage approaching 8K and all is excellent for my Mav!
