Are there any alternatives to Lasfit?

Diode Dynamics has front switchback, rear tail/turn, backup, cargo and side marker lights for the Maverick. Some may require modifications to the bulb tab in order to fit, but they come with a 3 year warranty.

Do the diode Dynamics need a resistor?
I just scanned some of their Q&A's that they mention they may need a separate resistor.

Just wanted to chime in—I've had great luck running a full Lasfit setup on my Maverick. Currently using their:
  • Turn Signal Light (T3 Series, Amber CanBus LED) – non-switchback
  • 3rd Brake Light
  • Cargo Light
  • Front Side Marker Light
  • Backup Light
All have been working solid with no hyperflash or errors on my hybrid (no resistors needed either). Definitely excited to see the new release on 5/21—hopefully it solves the issues others have been running into post-recall.

Direct from the source:

Turn signal bulbs require resistors to prevent hyperflash.

Our reverse light bulbs do not require resistors.

I'm currently running Lasfit front switchbacks along with the 3rd brake light and cargo light, and the Diode Dynamics fog lamps.

Cargo lights failed within the warranty period, switchbacks have gone into hyper flash on rare occasion at long stop lights. Lasfit mentioned this in the description and I believe have revised the switchback design since for it to no longer be an issue.

I've been holding off on rear turn signals and backup light to wait and see if the canbus issue has been resolved, not a fan of having to modify factory wiring for external resistors.

The Diode Dynamics fog lamps have been 100% worth the install challenges (mainly removing the front bumper cover) with no issues however.

Yes, there are, but all of them failed to work properly on the Hybrid after Ford's recall. Some manufacturers failed to address that specific problem. I could not find a manufacturer that specifically addressed it was a fix for the Maverick. Others just didn't respond to my inquiries.

Therein lies the problem. I shouldn't have to 'hack' a bulb in order for it work.

Thank you. Appreciate your feedback. But what exactly is the issue with the Hyrbrid? At the end of the day the power going to all the light bulbs is just a regular 12v one, isn't it? I changed the taillights on my motorcycle to an inexpensive LED without an issue.

The Lasfits work fine with the applications you describe (cargo, 3rd brake light, and front turns and side markers). Lasfit said they would re-structure their LEDs to solve the brake light problem, but that was at least a year ago. Seems they have finally done so which is why I posted their announcement.

You're welcome. The problem arose because Ford has a system that alerts the driver if a turn signal bulb burns out. At the beginning, the Lasfits worked fine. Then Ford apparently had an issue and did a recall on the system and since then the Lasfit bulbs either stopped working or gave off false burned out bulb readings to the truck.
The issue is that incandescent (OEM) bulbs have a higher resistance reading than the LEDs. That resistance force occurs when the bulb blinks and gives feedback to the truck's computer. If that resistance is different, the truck registers the bulb is out. Since LED have almost no resistance reading, I'm assuming it confuses the truck's computers.

We all know Ford computers are easily confused. 🫨

Thought I'd pass along what might be a "fix" for the problematic LED brake/signal lamps that plagued the Maverick after the burnt out bulb recall Ford did. Release date is 5/21. Hopefully, the long wait from Lasfit will insure a working product.

They sent me ones to try on a 23 XLT hybrid with all recalls done and they work great. No Hyperflash inside even if it is short lived. Had them in for about a month
