Hi all,
Just a heads up. I had done the recall update earlier in spring, for the backup camera, even though I hadn't had any problems. But last night the camera locked and froze on a backup view... even while driving forward. I pulled over and turned truck off. and the camera appeared fine when started back up. Mine is a 2024 with about 8,000 miles on it.
Has anyone else had issues after the recall fix?

A reset would likely fix that without having to pull over. I think you hold Power and skip forward buttons.

At least on a 2022-2024, I guess on a 2025 you have to turn the truck off?

Maybe report it to NHTSA https://www.nhtsa.gov/
Assuming that department of government hasn't been shut down.

Thanks a bunch. I will try that if it happens again.

Does pushing the Power and Skip forward buttons do anything different, than when the truck is started and the infotainment system powers up?

Or does this just allow you to reboot while the truck is on?

Power + Skip forward actually forces a restart of the infotainment system (power cycle).

FWIW, mine had the updates and I still get system freezes that require the reset. Have not had it happen with the camera active yet. NHTSA will not care about system lockups unless the camera is active at the time.

Have you performed the recall? If memory serves, there was a service bulletin about that, or I may conflating another similar issue.

Is that any different then you start the vehicle and the system boots up?

From the last line of the OP first post is an indication that he had the recall done.

I don't think it's any different. It's kind of like when your computer is running and you shut the power off and then turn it back on later, or you can just select reboot and it just restarts the computer. Same thing with the radio.

Yes! That happens to my ā€˜24 Hybrid XLT before I took it for the backup camera recall. They did the update and it still happens. I’m able to click on the X in the upper left of the screen and it goes away. My dad is a mechanic at a Ford dealership and he asked how long before it went away on its own? Seems like it’s a thing??

I don't think this is what the OP was saying, but FYI there is a setting to have the camera stay on after shifting out of reverse into drive until the truck moves forward for a few seconds (or maybe speed?). I like it.
