I’m looking to buy a ‘25 Maverick hybrid with the 4K tow package. I’ll be pulling my 1600 lb. Scamp. I’ve read that the CVT transmission should not be used to pull for long hauls. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You were probably reading about a "traditional" CVT, that uses steel belts & pulleys. The hybrid Mav uses a E-CVT with real gears, so you will be just fine. 🤠

The eCVT in a Ford is BETTER for towing than the EB auto transmission.

However. The EB has more horsepower and torque so you can drive faster.

Hybrid won't struggle at 65 mph and under towing what you have. Might struggle some at 70 mph. And will probably struggle a lot at 75 mph with that trailer. But it will get you there every time, if a minute or two or three slower than the EB on an hour long trip.

I tow 3200lb 7x12x9h ok at 65 MPH with the FWD hybrid routinely.

I have a brake controller for my trailer brakes so it stops fine too.

Yes, people are living in the year 2000. Ancient when it comes to hybrid engines. “I knew a guy” blah blah blah

75 MPH is not a safe tow speed with any vehicle combination. A cross wind or air turbulence can create unrecoverable sway. Everyone be safe out there.

Hybrid, just as good at towing, and unless you're towing 7/24 you'll benefit from the increased MPG when you're not dragging something along. Win/win.

Agree the hybrid will tow the Scamp just fine but for towing I still prefer the EB.
