1) Is there anything new with the 2025 Tremor that is not due to the face lift and upgrades across the line, but rather, is a Tremor change?
2) I see they have a 4x5 and a rear locker button. If you use rear locker I assume 4x4 gets engaged automatically. What is the use case for 4x4 over rear locker?
3) Is the lower MPG due to riding higher and having off road tires? Or is the gearing different?

Thanks!

No, but I am working on it...been following forever and now my wife is on board. I am actively selling my other car. As usual, I cannot decide which one to get :(. I like something about all the trims.

That or just trolling, especially with a f150 that is paid for in one of your post.

1 The 25 Tremor is its own trim level. So certain items are standard on it like 360 view and trim level with seats etc. In past years you could get the advanced AWD tremor pkg on the XLT and Lariat trim not so on the 25.

2 I don't know what you are referring to. The advanced AWD offers a 50% lock of power to the back wheels. It also offers a electric locking rear axle at low speeds which is separate. So a different RDU than other trims.

3 Again I don't know but many have chimed in that raising the ground clearance does restrict air flow with increased friction reduces fuel economy. Because you are comparing the 25 from previous years the 25 has better fuel economy or MPG posted for the 25 model year (tremor or advanced AWD).

This will be the last time I answer your post. Hope you make a decision on your needs. Keep in mind the FWD and Tremor or advanced AWD only have a 2000lb tow capability.

To get the optional 4k you would have to get AWD but not the advanced AWD,

When you’re actually going to buy a Maverick take all your questions to the dealer.
Buy the Tremor Lariat.

(1) Yes. There is a 360 degree camera. The previous Tremor lacked a forward camera (which is very helpful for off-roading).
(2) 4WD is intelligent. It sends 50% torque to front and 50% to rear axles, but the computer decides how much to send to each wheel based on wheelspin. When you lock the rear axle, each wheel will ger 25% torque.
(3) Yes.

If you want to do some moderate off-roading, the Tremor is the vehicle for you (because it has a higher front ramp angle). If you just do occasional off-roading (beach, small ruts, etc), I would get the FX4 package plus 4k Tow package. But the front clearance on a non-Tremor is significantly lower than the Tremor.

oh, yes I actually recall your recent Lobo questions. let's start with this:

buy a Lariat with 4k towing if you're towing.

buy a Tremor if you're often on forest roads or just want the best Maverick for light offroad / softroad and severe winter driving.

buy a Lobo if you're rarely/never offroad and you want to go to high performance driving events or autocross.

buy a hybrid only if mpg matters most to you. as in, will actually save you meaningful fuel costs or you just enjoy seeing big mpg numbers like playing a video game. (what's meaningful? to me, there isn't an amount that puts me in a hybrid.)

regarding the tremor questions specifically, start with this. Ford marketing and leadership does a variety of 'interesting' things like putting a 4WD Lock button in a lobo or tremor, or saying the lobo has a 7 speed when all ecoboost models ignore 2nd gear already.

to me, 4WD means low speed transfer case. no maverick has that, they are all AWD. that button in a lobo or tremor locks the power transfer unit / PTU which functions similarly to a 4WD transfer case. these models can do this because they have liquid cooled PTUs. other AWD mavericks would overheat the PTU which puts it into fwd mode, in fact, some people have reported this happening driving around having fun in the snow.

1) 2025 tremor has 360 cameras, trailer backup assist, and paddle shifters over 23-24 tremor. tremor itself has torque vectoring rear differential (RDU) and liquid cooled ptu.

2) rear differential in a tremor or lobo is locked by default and uses clutches to turn or bias torque. in high slip environments it might be useful to push the rear lock button.

3) agree with Joe Strummer. yes. there are some people who bs about lifting and installing aggressive all-terrain tires on their ecoboost mavericks and still getting 30mpg (over the EPA rating) on the highway, but let's get real. the EPA rating on the tremor is lower because of aerodynamics (height, lower fascia and no front splashguards) and aggressive AT tires.

I am not sure if Ford is going to build any more Tremors for 2025 so you need to find one at a dealership already. The last 2 commodity reports that dealerships get (and a few dealership employees repost on FB groups and here on MTC) show 2025 Tremor production capacity at 0%.

That is not good news for anyone putting in a new Tremor order. It could change, but I bet it won't. If someone doesn't have a Tremor already scheduled I would say 80/20 (or worse) that it isn't getting built.

Love my 24 Terrain Tremor. Trouble-free 22,000 miles, and just took it light-duty offroading a couple of weeks ago in Richloam Wildlife Park near Webster, Florida. Had a great outing with it, and plenty of fun without beating it to a pulp.

I don't have anything new to add about the questions themselves, I just wanted to say keep asking as many as you feel you need and don't let some of these folks make you feel bad for asking. A vehicle is a big purchase and they're under no obligation to answer your questions so if they don't want to they can move along without the lecture or their asinine two cents.
