About three days ago my wife was on a 50 mile mostly highway trip when there was an alert tone followed by a winding noise. This happened enough time and randomly that she called me and I heard it too.
Well I met her that evening and drove the truck in just about every way, meaning highway speeds to stop and go traffic and I get nothing.
On Sunday she drove to her parents house, mixed highway and stop and go, and got the same alert and noise both ways. She seems to think the alert tone comes from the front left speaker.
This morning on the way home it happened so many times that when she was talking to a service writer at the dealership, he heard it too and was perplexed. We have an appointment for next Wednesday.
When she returned home, She and I took the truck on a 75 mile trip to see if it would do it again. I drove for a good part of it and got nothing. Then I had her drive and we got nothing.
I don’t want to waste my time bringing it to the dealer, to only be told we are unable to replicate the issue.

I can hear the jokes now about my wife’s driving. That aside if someone has any clue what the issue can be that would be greatly appreciated.

The data has always shown that women are better drivers than men.

Any difference with her phone doing an auto-connect to Sync when alone, but yours gets the sync when together (obviously when alone)?

Supposedly her phone is the only one connected to the truck.
I have never synced my phone to it.
I did ask does this only happen when you are on the phone with somebody. Her answer was no, it happens randomly.

Including any playing of music thru it, carplay, ect.

Don't have to be talking either, connection already there.

If either side thinks there is something to play - speakers involved.

There is a kind of "count down" alarm built in. If you (or someone) opens the truck by force (without a key or by reaching in an open window to open a locked door) the alarm gives you some time (30 seconds?) to disarm the alarm before calling the cops (if equipped) and setting off the horn and flashing lights.

Should not happen while driving, no.
But with computer "glitches" just about anything can happen.

Maybe you have intermittent transmission from the key fob or that module in the truck that locks and unlocks the doors.

Maybe her fob is bad and yours isn't.

Try disconnecting her phone from Sync-3. Then re-sync.
My '24 Lariat Hybrid has this issue when I use an aftermarket CarPlay wireless connection.

What defines "better"?
I'd be curious if it still holds if you take smaller sample current years, avoid those past years.
I thought it was accidents, since about the only thing recordable.
But there was no means to record the mayhem they caused around them. Avoid 1, cause 3.

It might not even be the truck but her phone on Bluetooth-notifications or nav prompts can sneak through the speakers. Have her mute her phone or turn off Bluetooth next time and see if it stops.

Update on the random alert tones.….
And this is a funny one!

After many questions to my wife, and me driving her truck for about 100 miles over a couple of days to try to replicate the issue, I was finally able to to figure out what was causing this alert tone.

It turns out it was our dogs bark collar in the front left door pocket! 🤣
Apparently the Maverick puts out a vibration the mimics a dogs growling and that was setting off the bark collar.
Yesterday I took her fob and the dog collar and put in the door pocket and was able to get the collar to go off a couple times.

This saved me an embarrassing trip to the dealer.

I love my wife dearly despite her being totally clueless when it comes to her vehicles. 🙂
