Have any one of these performed a 0-60 and 1/4 mile test on the new Ecoboost? I just see them regurgitating old numbers they have posted before.
New? I thought its the same old Ecoboost albeit with a particulate filter. I wouldn't imagine most would notice a difference.

They did autocross the Lobo though, and word is it handles quite well albeit I saw reviewers saying its quite a stiff ride. I'm a pamper princess and prefer a softer ride though, so XLT hybrid is probably more my style as you keep the higher profile tires.

It is a new 4cyl architecture. Search Ecoboost MPC (modular power cylinder).

EcoBoost engines are designed to deliver power and torque consistent with those of larger-displacement naturally aspirated engines, while achieving better fuel efficiency and fewer greenhouse emissions. The latest turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost engine delivers 315 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, and features new Modular Power Cylinder (MPC) engine architecture to improve performance. The 2025 model year 1.5L and 2.0L Modular Power Cylinder EcoBoost engines replace the aging Dragon engines.

Ah, thanks so reading more it appears that there's really no difference in performance, but its now direct and port injected, so should alleviate carbon buildup concerns as a benefit.

Ford also offers the Maverick with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, this year rated at 238 hp and 277 lb-ft. On paper, this is less potent than last year's 250 hp. In practice, the 2025 Maverick makes the same power as previously, just the rating number has changed to align with requirements related to California emissions.
Also apparently gets a 1mpg bump in highway fuel economy:

A savvy tuner can take advantage of the dual injection and possibly be able to get these to run pure e85. It all depends on how big the direct injector pump is and whether or not you need to or even can increase the size of the direct and/or port injectors easily (if needed). It's possible on other engines, but with the new encryption on the Ford computers it's going to be a job to get these tuned if at all. The jb4 piggyback tuner will probably be a big seller for these for a long while.

in theory yes but in reality... not yet, unfortunately.

no one has cracked the '25 ecu and enabled reflash tuning devices. you could, in theory, use an intercepting piggyback device like a JB4, but I'm personally a little leery about that.

Yea, the encryption is so bad, that people with vehicles like the Bronco Raptor, can tune, but not to the extent needed and have to resort to swapping in a custom programed F-150 ECU as a work-around. Some new Fords have not been hacked at all and with our relatively small market compared to Mustangs, F-150s, Raptors, etc. the Maverick will not be a priority. Ford Performance might offer a tune though, since the Lobo is supposed to be the "performance" model.

yep, that's a possible path for the Maverick, also. we have no idea if the 22-24 ecu will play nice with a '25, especially a Lobo, but if the encryption can't be cracked then at some point someone will try it. (and it'll probably be Livernois lol)

Since the difference in the transmission is just programming for all I can tell (same model number transmission and everything), then it might be an option yes and the Tremor already had the torque vectoring diff.
