Took my 2024 Maverick Lariat Hybrid to my trusted local mechanic for 10K check. They found transmission fluid leaking from where the seal where the transmission and transfer case meet. has anybody else experienced this?

Warranty return the truck to the dealership service and have it repaired. I never seen that before on a vehicle so warranty work is needed.

Many threads on earlier years showed an issue similar.
Shows the usefulness of that full check at 10K, since the shield could easily hide that from a 5K oil change say when nothing there, until 10K.

About to do my 10K and curious what I'll find.

If you could discover the start of a damper problem, they could kill 2 birds...

Thanks! The mechanic said something similar. He felt that with the shield, it might not otherwise be detected until the leak was much worse.

Transfer Case? Maybe an adapter case but not transfer case, not AWD. 46,000 on my 22 and no leaks anywhere.

Is it easy to check the transmission fluid on these hybrids? I guess I need to investigate if there's a dipstick to check, lol.

I had the same exact issue on my 2024 hybrid found at 9,300 miles. I actually got it back last night. They had it for 22 days to do the repair. It was a full engine out repair. Ford took really good care of me. They paid for the rental car the entire time I was in it (F150 powerboost). I had an appointment they took it and diagnosed at the same day so they found the leak and wanted me to bring it back with Dye in the transmission so they could track the leak. I told them it was quite a drive to bring the truck back so they attempted to find the leak the same day. The leak was significant enough that they found it after cleaning off the fluid and driving it 10 miles. They put me in a rental car the same day. There was one part shortage for the repair. They had to do an emergency order on the part which caused the delay. They stated on the report I got that the leak came from the case halfs and the upper part of the case half had a gouge which was the cause of the leak. The pictures you posted looked identical to the ones I had posted on my post that I submitted last month.

Fill/level plug is inboard of the driver's side wheel. Can be reached with the wheels turned left. Search up transmission fluid change for pics.

Cheers.

My wife has a 2023 Ford Escape Hybrid (same engine and transmission as the Mav I believe) so I would assume the location to check it would be in the same place as the Mav. I'll have to take a look at see what I can find. We've owned the Escape almost (2) years now and have just under 32K miles so hopefully it's not leaking but I'll feel better when I check it.

1. Start the engine and allow to run for 1 minute. Turn engine off and wait 5 minutes

4. Rotate the steering wheel counter clockwise to access the transmission fluid leveling plug.

5. NOTE: The transmission fluid should be even with the bottom of the transmission fluid leveling plug hole.
Remove the transmission fluid leveling plug and check the transmission fluid level

There is a different cover for this?
Do you have a picture what it looks like with the cover on or over it?
