I just bought my 2024 Maverick Lariat last week and my goal is a RTT (Roofnest Condor Overland 2) and rack (I'm looking at this one maybe) on it that are easily removable, and I can winch up. Forgive my ignorance 🙏.

I don't think I fully understand how bed rails work or are installed. My truck already had a tonneau cover, so I was hoping I could maybe add T-Slot rails, but are those apart of the bed cover?

I was hoping I could keep the cover and then just install the rack and rails over it somehow?

What's my best course of action to get something easily removable and still maintaining some sort of bed cover?

I’ve seen people add t-slot rails to tonneau covers before. @Realtruck should be able to help with that part. As far as quick releasing, this is a thing I have been chasing too tbh. My theory is to get something like the Rhino Rack RLT600 quick mount legs and their cross bars. They are designed to come off in a snap (no bolts) so you could remove the whole assembly in one swift go.

Here is a setup I had on my 2022 Mavericks that allowed me to carry

Kayaks and Canoes. It would support an RTT and allow you to remove it by hoisting it up, as you mentioned.

The rack was an Angry Elephant and the tonneau cover was an Truxedo X15 Pro. Both have options that fit the Maverick

I now drive a Ford F150 Lightning and have outfitted it to do exactly what you are asking.

That looks really interesting. It doesn't look like Rhino Rack makes a track that fits the Maverick bed though. That would be ideal honestly because I could just leave the bars attached to the RTT when I winch it up.

Looking at @TheWeatherMan post above (thanks sir), it looks like the key there is the top-side hand wheel to loosen the t-slot and quickly remove. I like that somewhat, but the rack is too large, and I'd prefer it locked like the Rhino.

I hoped this would be a common setup and there'd be a mainstream product that people go to. My goal is to just do easy, weekend camping trips and be able to leave everything locked up without worrying somebody can quickly steal something.

If you get t-slot rails you can just measure the width of of the bed rails so you know what length cross bars you need. I think the last time I saw this it was for an F-150 lightning and that’s what he did. Basically pieced together individually because he didn’t want cross bars that stuck out over the bed rail like the package RR had proposed. it looks really nice.

Woa is this like the exact setup I need??

I didn't realize that T-Slot rails had to be integrated with the tonneau cover, so that's unfortunate I'll have to get rid of my existing one but this seems like the perfect setup and seems compatible with my truck?

I’m not sure what tonneau you have but you can reach out to @Realtruck for a chance to get something that may work with yours. I love the X4TS though, but it’s spendy. Never been a fan of folding tonneaus. The roll up aluminum is my way of doing things.

As far as width you’d need to find out as 65” might be a little wide but might actually be perfect too.
