I tagged along with a coworker and his family on a short trip through some unplowed roads in the Sequoia National Forest somewhere between Hartland Christian Camp and Highway 180 @ Ten Mile Creek Road.

My coworker was in an older Tundra that a lift kit and little bit bigger tires. We were also with two older Jeep Cherokees. One with a bit of a lift and decked out for overland. The other Cherokee was a beast, with giant bead locked 35"ish tires, permanent locked read diff, disconnectable sway bar, and a winch.

Then, there was me in my tiny Tremor hehe. They were all surprised at how well my "stocker" did and I only needed recovery one time :)

That's awesome. I would have liked to see the hole or snow drift/pile that you needed recovery. Still great post and pictures. Glad you are enjoying your truck, and thanks for posting.

I regret not getting photos then as well, it was just that where I got stuck was single lane and a couple trucks from a different group caught up with us. We were just in a hurry to get out of the way. It was not a snow drift. I just got too close to the uphill side of the road and fell into an unseen drainage low spot. It almost happened twice before but those times I got myself out without help. The third time was not a charm hehe.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/pojpDvBc3qWX6fuw6 I think I was right about here is where I got stuck for real. I almost made it out of there on my own ... so close! hehe

I understand I'm bad at taking pictures or rather bad at not taking the time and the pictures. Actually both, when I do take pictures they aren't centered and I'm cutting something off. Very rarely do my pictures come out the way they were intended. Appreciate you taking the time to take the pictures you did and then shared on your post.

I have a YouTube channel ... a drone based YouTube channel ... that is monetized! All I could think about is not tearing up my truck and not ruining the trip for the other guys that were not in "stockers". I totally spaced out on taking many photos and I never even launched the drone. The only reason I even got the photos I did get was because the Tundra was stuck and they were letting down his air. Then it dawns on me, "crap ... photos!" lol

BTW, I never aired down myself. I figure that my trucks biggest weakness is ground clearance and why make it ride lower? hehe

Looks like a blast. It’s one of my favorite things to do. Especially with people who can give you a tug out. Heck maybe a bit better tires is all you would have needed.

Well it doesn't seem to be letting me quote on mobile. This is to Joe asking about the 360 cameras:

I've only taken it on three three serious off-road trips for what I felt it can do. Once on some foothills where I got to test it out on a bunch of dirt climbs. The steepest one according to the dash was 31° and that was the only one where I finally broke traction but the off-road cruise control found its way and it kept on trucking. The second time was at the dunes in Oceano and then this trip. The right third of the center screen defaults to the radar screen which I pretty much leave it there. I think that's more valuable than the 360 cameras. What is on the big part of the screen, and what I feel as much more important, is the front camera. That was extremely helpful when you're coming over the top of a hill and you can't see what's another side over the hood.

And then talking about the tires, I don't think I want to modify it too much in ways that might affect the gas mileage because this is my daily driver and also I just barely bought it. I am contemplating putting a 2-in lift on it if that doesn't void any kind of warranties. This way at least I can feel a little more confident airing down the tires. For now I have never air down the tires yet just because I know that this truck's big is weakness is the ground clearance. I was previously a no build van camper and I plan on doing pretty much the same with this except instead of sleeping in a bench in the back of the van, I'm going to be sleeping in a tent in the bed of the truck. I've already slept directly on the metal of the bed on a little impromptu camping trip with just a 4x7 normal backpacking tent. I keep daydreaming about different ways of setting it up for overland but I also feel I want to keep it as light as possible and just camping in it well packing like a backpacker except of course for my big Anker Solix c1000 and my Bourge RV cooler. For now the plan is, if it doesn't fit under the tonneau cover, I don't need it :)

Looks like a blast! Can you share any photos of the offroad screens that show the angles? I am wanting to see if it's something I can add to my 25 Lariat with Forscan. Thanks.

Here are a series of photos. I went on a little dirt hill at my work so I can show you what it looks like. It's a very short but steep hill and you can also see that the radar wasn't happy lol. Starting with the center screen with the steering angle and the pitch and roll. Then, a few of the main screen in the middle when you have it in off-road mode in drive with the different camera modes, then a few of the same screen but while you're reverse. Lastly, the steering/pitch/roll screen on the main screen in the middle when the cameras aren't up.

Well, it seems I can't really decide what order the photos come in. But you can see the hitch in the ones that are in the back camera. I leave my hitch in at all times because it seems like that's probably the biggest weak point of this thing is the approach angle of the rear. I leave the hitch in to hopefully make that bottom out first before the actual bumper does. I don't trust how well that plastic might stay attached lol

PS. I noticed that there was a little bar on the speedometer screen that looks like there's a second option to the steering angle screen. I went back in there and looked at it, that second option is the seat belt screen

And while I'm taking pictures of cameras, this one is for Joe asking about the 360 cameras. This is an example of why the front cameras are so awesome. This is the view from eye level in the driver seat and then this is what the front camera sees. It doesn't take much before you can't see over the hood
