My 2000 Taurus wagon had one. 75lb weight limit.
I miss my Chevy S-10 "sideways" seats. About 12 inches of width, you risked being crushed if the driver or passenger reclined their seat, and you got to kick the person sitting across from you.

My dealership just messaged me yesterday saying that they're hopeful that a new resolution will solve the rear backup camera in ~2wks.

LaFontaine Ford - Grand Blanc, Michigan.

My dealer in CT told me the same thing, which is the first I've heard from him as far as an actual ETA since January so cross our fingers

Right, it's promising to have any sort of communication outside of "no updates". Usually I am updating the dealership with what I'm learning from these threads lol. Are you in Michigan by chance?

take this with a grain of salt, but i was at my ford dealer today getting service done on my escape and talking with my sales guy... don't know how reliable the information was given to him, but that's what he knows.
Apparently, he doesn't know any more than anyone else who's been BS'd to about this issue.

Well, we're all hopeful and have been. I'm just glad I don't rely on that fuzzy low resolution camera image.

Doesn't matter what you use or don't use, federal regulation is federal regulation. I see all the old heads saying "back in my Model T we didn't have backup cameras, we relied on good ole fashioned mirrors". Like cool... that's relevant...

Well said. I get it. Back when I was a kid, we kept our camping foam mats in the back seat, my brother would lay out on the floor and I'd lay out on the back seat, no seatbelts required.

And yes, we all relied on good old-fashioned mirrors and killed about 230 people a year in the US, 1/3 of them being small children and injured another 12 thousand or so. And those cameras reduced those numbers by nearly 40% on the "back in my day group (65+)" Is it perfect? Nope, but I'm all for saving lives, and those "new" things like seatbelts, airbags, crumple zones, reverse camera's objectively do that.

And it makes sense you can't build and sell a car with them being defective and not meeting standards.

You mad bruh? Let me guess you backed in to something because your camera didn't work.

WE ALL KNOW it's a federal mandate! I think it's a fine piece of technology. But yet millions are still on the road with out back up cameras. People are just ranting because we are and have been driving our "model T's" backing over kids, animals, and who knows what else and just really want to get our new futuristic vehicles.

My 1990's F-150 unfortunately did not come with a backup camera haha. I'm with you all, but it doesn't change anything about Ford Mavericks from the modern day.
