your valves don't need cleaned at 20k. if you really want it, do it at 100k. otherwise just use quality top tier fuel, or maybe Techron additive perioidlcally to clean lines out.
thank you I was thinking the same
To me it seemed like an easy way for the dealer to get $$

these people take advantage of people like my grandma, goes in for oil change, leaves with 400 dollar bill, tells her come back in 2k miles for everything over again. / not sarcasm. its bad.

Unless your Mav is running/idling like crap and you've eliminated all the other possible causes, forget the induction cleaning. Use a Top Tier gas, maybe periodically (5k miles?) run some Techron or BG or whatever additive you prefer to keep injectors etc clean. Your 2.5L Atkinson cycle hybrid ICE has port fuel injection only, not direct injection, gasoline with decent detergent content should keep your intake valve backsides clean. And maybe think of seeing another dealer, hate it when they do this sort of stuff.

How often would you recommend to use the additive? I see that seafoam is popular

CHECK THIS OUT:
THEY ALSO DID THESE TWO ITEMS
"6579 eng perf restore" likely refers to a product called "BG EPR Engine Performance Restoration," which is a motor oil additive designed to clean and restore the performance of an engine by dissolving deposits on piston rings and other components, improving compression and fuel economy; "BG" stands for the company that produces it, "EPR" signifies "Engine Performance Restoration.".
$50
ALSO THIS:
A Ford part number "PM-44-A" refers to a "Motorcraft 44K Fuel System Cleaner", which is a chemical cleaning product designed to clean fuel injectors, intake valves, and other components within a gasoline engine, helping to restore engine performance by removing deposits buildup in the fuel system

Different folks will have different opinions, from "I swear by Techron (or whatever), I put a bottle in every other tank of gas" to "you don't need it at all if you're using quality gasoline". For my current '24 Silverado with a DI-only 2.7L turbo 4-banger, I throw in 20 oz. of Techron (1 oz. per gal.) around 5000 mile intervals (knowing that the Techron does zero for my intake backsides, hopefully helping with my injectors and throttle body). Same with my '23 Hyundai Tucson with 2.5L MPFI/DI non-forced induction engine (12 oz. bottle, also 1 oz per gal., every 5000 miles or so, which hopefully does help the intake backsides a little). All I know about stuff like Techron is that you can OVER-TREAT; it is not one of those "if a little bit is good then a lot is better" applications. Too many horror stories from BITOG on folks that seriously over-treated (as in multiple bottles per tank on multiple tanks) and lived to regret it. From Chevron ~10 years ago:

I know I'm cynical and distrustful when it comes to dealership service departments. But I'd wager it's even money they didn't even put that treatment into the engine. They just took the money and ran.

I've seen so much scum-baggery from dealerships over 50 years. I had a friend who took his Honda Civic in to have the hatchback struts removed. He's like me, so he scored the existing struts before service. Long story short, they didn't replace both struts after billing him, then denied it. He brought the owner of the dealership out to the car and showed him the scored strut, said a few words, and left never to return.

That said, I've also worked with some dealerships that were absolutely awesome.

I always ask for the old parts in a box. dealerships always complied.

That damn idiot was putting all different types of additives in every fill up! No wonder he had problems!

Yep, they (automakers) all seem to do it now. Ford/Motorcraft "teamed" with BG to upsell you stuff:
BG Products, Inc., and Motorcraft® Announce the Launch of the Motorcraft® BG Enhanced Chemical Maintenance Program – BG Products, Inc.

And they are pretty slick in their weasel-words on what's approved vs not approved. EFC08539smpsu

Same with GM/ACDelco and BG, they've "partnered" too. And Hyundai sells their version of Techron - the same friggin' Techron bottle with Hyundai label on it!
