In the handbook I received with my 25 XLT Hybrid, it says on page 110 to turn on the air conditioner and let it run for 2 minutes every month to keep it fully functional. Is this what everyone does? I've never had to do this before in my other vehicles. Even in winter, am I supposed to turn the Maverick on in my garage with the A/C on for 2 minutes? It's the 2nd note in the picture.

Been a habit of mine for years. Have never had to replace an A/C compressor as a result. Keeps the juices flowing and dries the air for better defogging too.

You only need to do this if you haven't run the vehicle for a month.

The truck is going to periodically run the air conditioner without your intervention just by driving.

It's good to run your vehicle at least once a month for a whole host of reasons.

I actually keep the ac on. It prevents the windows from fogging up. If you set the temp you want and then put the controller to ac max the air will recirculate instead of heating outside air. It works pretty well for me. I have done this for years and so far I haven’t worn out any compressors
Anyone know if this is just for hybrids?

I truly believe that the more you run a car A/C the longer it will last.
In winter as soon as I get above 35F I run mine.

I put more weight in the advice of the manufacturer than I do the advice of anonymous unvetted strangers.

That's why I only take the advice of fully synthetic strangers.

When you run the defroster the A/C is turned on to remove moisture from the air.
