I'm still waiting to see exactly which manufacturer currently DOES NOT include axle assemblies in their power train warranty...

I can understand not covering a torn boot from off-road damage, but faulty axle assemblies, with no modifications and no boot damage should always be covered-
Hello, I had both of my axles replaced already and it was under warranty. 2023 Maverick XLT. My problem was a bad vibration at around 40 mph. They drove it and it went right in the shop. Best of luck to you sir and obviously it is a problem.

Thanks... @billbillw

Yeah that would be ideal, but I don't have a deep set of impact sockets, or an impact driver.

Still doesn't change the fact that they purposely over rattled that nut. They also used a shallow socket and damaged the corners half way down the nut, and I would have rounded it trying to remove it with a shallow...

That's a metric nut and why aren't you using a socket? Wrench is wrong tool for job IMO. If anything you should use it to hold the bolt on the other side.
For your information, that's a splined bolt..

But thanks for trying to help...

Took me 5 or 6 test drive/adjustments, but I think it's close enough...

It was probably torqued to spec. Removal often requires more torque than was applied to tighten. Don't try to do the work without the correct tools. Note: I didn't say use an impact driver. I said to use a breaker bar, which is a socket driver with a non-ratcheting head. Everyone who works on vehicles should have that. Ratcheting socket drives often break above 100ft/lbs, especially the less expensive ones.

Hilarious 😆

It was over torqued BIG TIME...

I always use sockets and breaker bar to do suspension work, and have NEVER encountered anything as tight.

True, I'm not a professional auto mechanic.

But, I AM an FAA qualified A&P license holder, also served a millwright apprenticeship and have installed lots of shocks, springs and lift kits over the decades.

Lucky I was able to barely get it loose with my 13/16 wrench and fence post setup to save me a trip all the way to town...

But don't worry boss, next time I'm in harbor freight, I'll drop $20 on that deep impact metric set that I hopefully never have to use...

Harbor Freight impact socket and breaker bar served me well when I upgraded the axle spline nut on my Chevy Volt. In order to remedy an axle click.
Best part is you don't have to buy a whole set you can buy an individual socket.

I bought a single deep 35mm socket in advance for the axle nut on our FJ cruiser, because I knew I needed one...

Funny thing is, I already knew there would be folks telling me it's my fault for being ignorant, but wanted to share my experience anyway-

Take it with a grain of salt...

On a positive note, I did receive a DM from a member that works for Ford. He offered to help me report the dealership to corporate-

I certainly hope you changed your review of Jones Ford back to the one star you originally gave them after your first visit. When they told you it wasn't covered under warranty.

Nah-

I'm done with those jokers...

If I would have known then (when axle wiggle first started) what I know now, I would have ordered axles from ford.parts.com and replaced them myself!

At that point you would have had the option to go with the upgraded Tremor axles.

But are they really an upgrade???

I've read about the axles failing prematurely on tremors also...
very, very rarely. like I've seen 2 complaints of it, ever and one of the trucks was lifted 2.5".

Sounds like the put the most inexperienced person in the shop on the job, who likely has the the fewest tools because they are new. That sucks.
