I haven't taken time to research it too close so I thought I would come to the forum and ask the experts. I think the XLT premium package is a waste, much better value to just step up to a Lariat but i might not want to spend that much.
That being said if a person is just wanting to order a cheap Hybrid to flat tow behind a motorhome what all do you lose buying an XL other than the ugly steel wheels which I would replace anyway. Is the XL a way better value or is it a no brainer to go for a XLT without the prem pkg? Thanks in advance! MJ

Depends on what features you can live with at the end of the day, simple as that. If you want the cheapest most basic setup, an XL without 360 is the way to go. If you want things like a push button start and intelligent access (XLT and up) an XL doesn't have it. Power driver seat with lumbar support, heated seats and steering while, it's XLT lux or Lariat. Vinyl seats, fancy DRL and high end cruse control, Lariat. Those are the big differences in trim level now that they all have sync4.

I can’t answer for any Maverick that was a ‘23 or beyond, but I can answer for a ‘22 XL, as I owned one for several months. The ‘22 XL hybrid that I had didn’t have cruise control, and no towing option, at least the one I had. The seats were just OK, but the seats on the ‘22 hybrid XLT were better. Yes, I’ve owned one of those too. And yes, I do feel the Lariat is a better bang for your buck than the XLT. It just feels and looks better and has plenty of options. I’ve currently owned my ‘22 hybrid Lariat with all the bells and whistles for over two years now and I have absolutely no plans to trade it on nor sell it for a very, very long time!! I’ve added some accessories and graphics to fit my personality.

XL comes standard with cruise now.
Summary of differences pulled from a dealer page:

The new 2025 Ford Maverick XLT offers amenities like the following
  • In-bed cubby storage
  • Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start
  • 2K Trailer Hitch Receiver
  • 10 cargo bed tie-downs
  • 17-inch Carbonized Gray aluminum wheels
The only item that can't be added to the XL either as an option or aftermarket is push button start.
The hitch should be added to the XL factory order since aftermarket is more expensive. The rest can generally be purchased cheaper aftermarket.
If you want power mirrors, be sure to get co-pilot 360 with the XL, otherwise it comes with manual mirrors.

Thanks, it looks to me like for the small difference in price. The XLT is worth it. It's the jump to the lariat that is stupid in price.

If you saw first hand how easy it is the steal and/or break in to a push button start vehicle you would be shocked.........................................

I have been driving for over 60 years. I have NEVER had anyone look at any vehicle that I have been in and say, "WOW, look at those rims, or EWWW, those rims stink." Only you care about them. Only you will notice them. Nobody else cares,
Save your money and buy a set of foam dice to hang from the mirror. :cwl:

On the contrary I have heard and I have said "Wow those rims really make that vehicle look sharp"!! But that's in 67 years so maybe that's the difference. 🤪

If you can provide details how this applies specifically to Ford I’ll believe you…………………………………………

I bought a 2024 XL. It bothers me that the XL does NOT have power-controlled side mirrors. Also, it's missing some tie-downs in the bed. Ford really cheaped out on the tie-downs. What's up with that?

Hi Federico, yes I've been doing some research and for $2000 it looks to be all no brainer to step up fron XL to XLT. Now another $9000+ to go to a Lariat is a head scratcher. For a RV tow vehicle I'm thinking no. Add the Premiun pkg to the XLT and call it good!

The Wife's XLT is quite a bit nicer than my XL.
