Push button start is more convenient but also easier to be stolen.
Anybody who wants to steal my Maverick is welcome to it.

Just got my Oxford White 2025 Maverick XLT with the luxury package, a drop in bed liner, a smoke hood deflector. a keyless entry pad, and rubber floor mats. So far, I absolutely love it. Here are the pros & cons I've seen after having it for 48 hours.

Pros:
1) The screen is much better!!! It's bigger & clearer.
2) It has Synch4 and wireless Apple Carplay.
3) Seems to have more power when I press the gas.
4) It's white, not school bus yellow/orange. To be fair, I didn't hate school bus yellow/orange, (I actually liked it at first) but I wanted the color Cyber Orange was on the website and didn't get it. After a while the yellow/orange became less desirable.
5) Push button start is REALLY nice! It's not worth $10,000 or anything like that, but it's VERY easy to get used to.
6) The heated steering wheel is worth the $1k I paid for the luxury package. I have poor circulation in my hands, and this helps.
7) When I change the mode to "Slippery", the next time I got in the truck it asked if I wanted to go back into slippery mode.
8) 3 more years/36,000 miles of warranty.
9) As someone else pointed out, things really do feel sturdier.
10) The rotary dial is more firm, and changing from one gear to the next (ie reverse to neutral) is more defined.
(Edited/Added)
11) I forgot to mention, the sound system sounds better which is a huge plus!!

Cons:
1) I liked the information screen (where the speedometer is) much better on my '22.
2) They changed the quad view that used to have (top left) trip mpg, (top right) trip miles, (bottom right) miles to empty, (bottom left) real-time mpg & for this to turn blue when in electric/charge mode to have other things that aren't nearly as helpful.
3) There's not a way to easily see if I'm running in electric/charge/gas mode AND to know my real-time mpg at the same time. You can see if you're in electric/charging/gas mode by looking at the far left gage, but it's not easy. To make it easy there's an information "card" & a real-time mpg "card" you can add to the information screen, but then you can't see both at the same time. You have to toggle. I loved the old quad view. (If I'm missing something, someone please show me how I can get the old quad view...or something similar).
4) No physical buttons for the temperature controls.
5) Cost me more money.

The issue with your speedometer happened out of the blue one day. I parked the truck and when I came back it was changed. I have looked into it and can’t find any solution. I liked to see how many miles were on the tank in addition to the miles to empty.
I frequently get messages saying that some sort of computer update was taking place. I guess that as long as the truck continues to make me happy all is good.
The one thing that really hurts is the gas mileage when it is really cold out. That reduces the mileage by 50% unless I am driving a long distance.
There is nothing that can be done about the cold weather issue.

Solid comparison.

I've only sat in my AWD Lariat and a quick loop around the dealer lot (not subjecting it to salted roads before Fluid Film) and the interior felt a little bit a step above than my 23' Tremor. Granted it was XLT+ Lux v. a Lariat it seemed, nicer?

The dial on the shifter is different and has more of a detent/click as you twist it.

Couldn't figure out the front camera on the Lariat and had to have the salesman show me it is one of the remaining physical buttons on the center stack!

The lack of physical buttons for AC control is an automatic no for me. Don’t know why car companies are doing that

Thanks for the info - much appreciated. My similarly equipped XLT is schede3uled to be built next week. How do you like the interior fabric and stitching? I would imagine the blue looks great with the outside white.
Love it! I didn't think I was going to like the blue as much as I do. Being a Clemson guy, orange is in my blood. 🙂 I might like the blue more than the orange in my '22.

Without the fob? I would have thought having the fob was a deal breaker.

I got my Maverick 3 days ago in the middle of a cold snap. The highest temperature since I got the truck is 40. Mostly it's been in the low 30s or colder. That's rough for the middle of NC. I hope THAT'S the reason, I'm getting such crappy gas mileage. By crappy, I mean 33 mpg. 🤣

In my previous Maverick, I'd get around 45 mpg coming back from work. Yesterday? 33 mpg.

That blows about the Information Screen changing out of the blue. Have you talked to Ford about it?

Thanks. Yeah, I thought going from the '22 XLT to a '25 XLT would be almost seamless. Between the information screen (speedometer screen) being night & day different and the missing physical buttons. I'm not sure I can just view the camera. I'll have to see if that button is on mine.

And I do like the dial on the shifter much more now.

You know why...$$$$. I don't know how much they save, but I'm sure it's significant.

What are you going to do when no new car you want has physical buttons? 🙂

In your opinion did the dash and/or HVAC vents feel different to you? Dash felt maybe a little less hollow? Still hollow but maybe not as much. I'm sure a lot of it is that new car feel and the fact I've been driving a Honda Civic around for the last 9 months and desperately want back in my Mav.

Buy used lmao. Especially seeing the cost of new cars. $38k for a maverick with the add ons I would add? No thanks!

I haven't really noticed the dash yet, but I will and will get back to you. Someone said about their 2025 that it feels more sturdy, more solid. I have to agree. It's hard to put my finger on it, but I agree.

One thing I've noticed is I have to keep re-closing my door. I go to shut my door, and it only half clicks. I have to open and shut it again, so it's all the way closed. Was my '22 like that when I got it, and over time the seal had lost some of its elasticity? Possibly, but the new Maverick just seems more solid. I hope it lasts.

I cant buy used.
bought a few used vehicles when I was 16-20, and always had issues that had I owned from day 1 wouldn't of happened. now I only buy new vehicles, at least if something breaks, it wont be due to ignored signs or lack of maintenance.

yeah it cost more, but I feel better being the first owner, and having all the history of it being mine. but I only owned the following. 2013 scion tc, 2015 mustang (someone hit and ran it) then bought 2017 mustang, 2024 gr86 (sold this sucker immediately I didnt enjoy it) and now 2025 maverick on order.

same with motorcycles, every damn motorcycle I buy that seemed flawless, like within short time developed issues. never again. even if price is double. the amount of work people do to deceive or make something run great for short time to sell it, is mind blowing, if they had put 1/4th this effort maintaining them in first place wouldn't have any issues. but nope, lets be lazy and deceitful.

I was a "used car/truck" guy for 25 years once I had kids and the Mrs. stayed at home to raise them (and beat up ones at that), but the last 2 trucks I've gotten new...I can finally afford it again. 🙂

Then again, paying $26k & $35k out the door isn't exactly breaking the bank. And paying $40k for a car/truck isn't so bad if you keep it 10 years. If you change every 3 years (my recent trend), I agree that's a little much.
