I average 40 Mpg and wasn't sure what the UHaul 5x8 trailer would do to the Mavvy but she handled it. In the end, 31 Mpg unloaded on the way to Philly and 29 Mpg loaded up back to Jersey. Really impressed. And yes, the subwoofer is still rockin' the T shirt
Ford Maverick First time towing with Maverick Hybrid and really impressed (towed UHaul 5x8 trailer) 1000000524

the hybrid really does tow well. How many lbs do you think you were pulling?
Empty weight of the 5x8 is 900 plus his 300. That's the biggest Uhaul (enclosed) cargo trailer the Hybrid can tow. The 6x12 is the next size up, at a whopping 1,920 dry weight. I don't tow (yet), but I learned something new, haha.

Very helpful. Thanks for the research.

Howly cow 😳
I really need to research stuff before jumping in with both feet. I have what's called Impulsionitousness. Thanks for that info 👍

You experience is very similar to my own with my '23 XLT Hybrid. I am getting 44mpg on my 80 mile round trip commute in the mountains. When I hauled 1800 pounds of lumber I got 37mpg. When I towed farm implements (a plow, 4' bush hog, etc.) on a trailer I got 31mpg. When I made a 1010 mile round trip to Florida and back to go fishing, I got 35mpg while doing 75mph on I-75.

I'm a happy camper.

Nope I prefer your method. Besides those are just suggestions. Lol

As for the OP I’m very impressed with these hybrid’s all around. Towing being one. I can say from experience with my ecoboost’s that the weight is very insignificant as far as mpg or actual towing. It’s the wind those trailer catch.
Obviously braking becomes harder but I’m curious if the hybrid was pushed harder if it would shine. I beat the answer is yes

The answer is yes. With brake controller and 7 pin wire harness added, 3,000 lbs and 60 sq-ft frontal is doable without issues at 62 mph (100 kph) which is fine for me.

The wind drag DOES quickly add up exponentially.
Slowing down is your greatest consideration. And you'll save fuel to boot.

Ford publishes what I call the "no compromise" rating. Follow their guidelines and you can tow any road at any posted speed.

If you are willing to slow down (and I am) it will do more. With proper trailer brakes, the truck won't even feel the trailer when slowing down.

Horsepower can be defined as work divided by time. Give the hybrid more time (by driving more slowly) and it WILL get the work done. Within reason of course.

Did you enable tow mode or left on normal? I towed about 1200-1800 lbs throughout this week in both modes but tow mode definitely dumbs a lot of gas but does have more accessible power though.

I hear ya. I just got done with 800 miles towing my 2500# boat, not sure if I'm a fan of the forced down-shifts when braking while in tow/haul mode.

Have trailered 1200 lbs of cargo in a landscape trailer 40 miles with zero issues. Towed much easier than my previous Honda Element AWD.

But must say one of the most impressive features of the Maverick towing was when I connected my old beat up trailer, the Maverick display told me the "left brake light on the trailer was out"...and the Maverick was right.

Pretty close to me I’m in Bucks County right across the river from New Jersey Northeast from Philly. My son is a junior in high school so the whole moving stuff to the dorm part makes me a bit sad though…….

I did set it to Tow Mode since it was my first time.
