This article from top gear has some nice images comparing the size of maverick vs "competition".
https://www.topgear.com.ph/features/feature-articles/ford-maverick-size-comparo-a2588-20210611

I find it very useful because I have seen on the forum images where the perspective gave quite a wrong idea of how small it was vs ranger/f150... of course, it is smaller but other vehicles look bigger just because of the height of the hood to "conquer the road"

Looking at the images I also believe the maverick will have better visibility of the road and its surrounding..as its front is not a 4'-5' wall as in other trucks design..

https://paultan.org/2021/06/10/us-p...ans-and-occupants-of-smaller-vehicles-report/

Analysis of industry data by Consumer Reports shows that the height of bonnets on passenger trucks has increased, on average, by at least 11 since 2000, and new pick-up trucks have become 24% heavier between 2000 and 2018. On trucks such as the Ford F-250, the front edge of its bonnet is now at least 55 inches (1,397 mm) tall, or as tall as the roof on some sedans, according to the publication.

New data compiled by Consumer Reports found that drivers of these newer, larger vehicles have poorer lines of sight, which means that pedestrians or smaller vehicles can be hidden directly in front of them. “These trends are alarming. Automakers must put safety first for people inside and outside the vehicle,” said Consumer Reports manager of safety policy William Wallace

All I know is my coworker who drives a pavement princess super duty FX4 that's so big he has to park on the back fence instead of under the awning is going to see my Maverick parked right beside him some day in October, and I don't care that it's half the size. 😂

After that I'll park under the cover. This is Texas, and the shade and hail protection is nice. I'm not an animal.

Previous post aside, someone I work with had a Santa Cruz today. I don't know who it was, if I find out I'll ask for a tour, but I was shocked at how big it felt. Made me happy that my Maverick will be a little bigger. I was worried about that, coming from an F-150.

Similar idea here in Arizona when it comes to shade! The best parking spots are not necessarily the closest ones to the store, but the spots with shade!

I get to work early (about 30 minutes) to get a covered spot... Makes all the difference in the Summer

Exactly!! It's been nice to see around here in Tucson that more parking lots are being covered with solar panels, which gives shade and generates electricity as a bonus!

Really? I didn't know that AZ hadn't embraced solar! With all the solar panels going up everywhere I thought the State had! I've even final broke down and decided to put solar on my house after my neighbors on each side got solar. After talking to both of them about it, I couldn't see a reason not to.

Yup, AZ hasn't embraced Solar but didn't stop us, we got the system last year with 3 battery packs, we have enough power to run the house for 2 days off the batteries. When we sell it back to SRP we make .3/kw usually around 9am our batteries are fully charged and start making money.

I'm looking forward to getting mine installed and not having to pay for electricity again!

So you pay for solar to sell it back to the power company which they in turn quadruple the price and sell it to others? Wow. They have no infrastructure costs and make 400%.

Did you mean how "small" it felt?
