Tape measure applied to all 3 models. Not so surprising results?

Interesting comparison. I was considering the Ridgeline before ordering a Maverick. The Ridgeline is just too expensive and bigger than I wanted.

The Ridgeline has more cubic capacity, but it should as its in a different class size-wise(ie Ranger). I felt after comparing the numbers between the Mav and the SC, that unless that under-bed storage is important to you the Maverick has a better USEABLE bed, lower lift, etc.

I wish they'd do a base model SC vs Mav Hybrid comparison, but have read Hyundai is providing ONLY higher trim turbo'd models for professional reviews, etc. I think Hyundai has determined "Oh Sh!t, the Mav Hybrid kills our base model".

One great thing about the Maverick is that it has the lowest lift-in height. For people that haven't owned trucks for a long time, when you are loading up something seriously heavy, every inch really makes a huge difference.

And while its not really hard to get into even tall trucks, hopping down its much nicer when its lower.

Unfortunately, the Mav isn't a damped tailgate, however, that's a $30 fix with one of those dampers. That's another thing you won't know how you lived without it once you have it though, as its great when you have hands full of stuff and can just pull the latch with a finger and let it fall on its own, and its safer as some kids the tops of their soft heads can be bonked.
