3D Printed Tailgate Hole Caps

I printed these yesterday and they are a perfect fit. There was a thread a while back where someone had mentioned hauling some pea gravel and some got into their tailgate through these openings and it rattled every time they would close the tailgate. I found this file on a Facebook group with the link to Thingiverse. Printed in Black PETG and took right at an hour. Very practical print and I have not seen anything like this being sold aftermarket.

Keep posting the 3D printed related stuff. I definitely appreciate it. I have black, "clear" and purple PETG filament for my Sovol SV06. I'm always looking for things I can make myself.

This is the phone mount I used, it works great. Very snug fit and I use a Pro Max sized iPhone.

I am using a Sovol SV01 Pro and I haven't fully dialed in the temp settings for this PETG, nor do I use a filament dryer so I did sand a little after I pulled it off of the bed because of stringing on this print.

I gave the file to my son and had him print a couple of them. I'll test the fit the next time they come down to visit and let everyone know how it goes, and how they work.

Mine snapped right in like a factory part. I would recommend letting them cool a little before pulling them off the print bed. I set mine bed temp at 83º C (181.4º F) when using PETG and the part may still be a bit pliable if removed at that temp. Very functional part, highly recommend.

I'm not printing them to sale. I was just sharing an .stl file for those who would like to print their own. There may be others on the forum who do print and ship items. If you take the file to your local library they probably have a 3D printer that you can use and will only charge you for the filament cost. Shouldn't be more than 25¢. Cheaper than the stamp to send it.

Take the file to office Depot or FedEx or a lot of print service providers.

shipping is OUTRAGEOUS even when you put stuff in a padded envelope...........
