This was an interesting review and I think one that has less to do with marketing money spent by Ford and more to do with real world off-road ability and experience by the writer:

That was my favorite article before the embargo was lifted. Been reading and watching David Tracy for decades so to get a mechanical run down and what it likely means on a trail is cool!

I think the Tremor is super cool, the package is great, factory lift and the double clutch RDU alone is very appealing. That being said, I think that article is a good resource for those who are interested in the Tremor but don't understand the limitations of the Maverick/Tremor when it comes to serious off-roading and rock crawling.

The RDU is why I want it - the lift is decent and my plan would be to put some different shocks in there that will further improve the trail running capability of it.

Being in the Midwest and Southeast - I don't plan to rock crawl it at all but I do have to cover a number of washboard gravel roads (about 7 miles) to reach my mountain property and then the final half mile is straight up the side of the mountain. Can all that be done in a sedan or say an FX4 Maverick? Sure most of the time no issues.

But I want something that is made for that environment and can handle those washboard ripples, ruts, and dips.

Hopefully a full review is coming. The group here gives better info. Liked the driving dynamics info. My Tremor will probably be delivered before an in depth on and off road test.

Small sampling but screenshot on video for Andre and TFL shows MPGs over 80+ miles at 22.1 mpg.

Ford should have put a 2 inch front lift and 1 inch rear instead of 1 inch all around.

Match top a set of beefy 245s.

Easy fix though.

Ford performance should sell a kit for it. Lift, tune, intake, catback exhaust. Sell it for around $2k. More suspension and 280hp and I would be stoked!

I really hope that Ford Performance comes out with a 2.0L tune (They have one for the 2.3L that dealers install and doesn't void warranty) unfortunately they have had plenty of time to do it and never did.

I would like to see another inch of lift all around. I am going to write Fox, King, Bilstein and see if they will help identify springs and high end shocks to make it happen.
