Tinted Front Windows and Blacked Out Top of Headlights

Visited a local tint shop today to get my two front windows done to match the rears.

Also had them put some black satin vinyl wrap over the top portion of the headlight housing. The guy called it eyebrows. I guess it kind of does look like that.

FYI: This does NOT cover any functional lighting. There is nothing but a silver piece of plastic there on my XLT. It has LED up there on Lariat trim only.

I will just say....I like the look of this ride. OWL tires, cactus and is this the black out? When I order a 24 this is the look I want.

If you have and body mods done can you let me know? Thanks.

I'd be wary of that part of the housing getting hotter in the sun and causing it to crack over time. You might want to feel for any big difference in temperature between the top and bottom of the lights later this summer.

Interesting. I'll check on that. Nice thing about vinyl wrap is you can simply peel it off at any point if you decide you don't want it anymore.

Looks great! Questions on front window tinting? Did you do 70%? How is it at night? Whoops after re reading I see you did the front sides not wind shield.

It's not BAP. This is a 22 and BAP wasn't offered. However I did replace the stock FX4 decals with black and gray ones, installed black RokBlokz mud flaps, black hood protector, blacked out the tail lights using Zep decreaser to remove chrome from the interior (there's a whole thread here about that) and also have 2-inch Eibach lift springs, Fifteen 52 Traverse MX wheels and Firestone Destination AT 245/70/17 tires.

I did 50% ceramic on the front looks great to me and good to drive at nite no problem

Did 80% on the fronts. Rear read 75 percent on the shop meter but they said they typically recommend going a little darker on the fronts because all the light coming in through the windshield makes the fronts look a little lighter.

Love the YouTube videos and congrats on the new Tremor in the family! Hoping to see some videos on the Tremor - I am in between Tremor and FX4 with 4K. Realistically I will hardly ever use either, but still a tough choice.

Still loving the RokBlokz? Anything else out there you seen you like better?

I did my front windshield with a ceramic tint of 75% I have no issues seeing at night, I didn't want to match the rear windows on the driver and passenger windows but went 50%. My Maverick has a sunroof so I had the ceramic tint placed on the sunroof too. I have to say, my Maverick has to be one of the coolest cars (Temp wise) I have owned.

Will definitely do some Tremor videos if she keeps it. I was already thinking of going to an off-road course and doing "clearance vs. clutch" to see which truck did better. My lifted FX4 has better ground clearance than the Tremor, but of course the Tremor has the dual locking rear clutches. Would be interesting, for sure...

Oh, and on the RokBlokz, yes very happy with them. Since I bought them I can't say I am tuned into what other options may have come along. But I'm not aware of anyone else offering anything better than them for the Maverick. Of course, there are tons of "universal fit" options out there that I am sure you can attach to your Maverick, but I am very satisifed with my decision. A little pricey but once you've spent the money and moved on you will never think about the $150 again.

It's pretty "cool" in the looks department, too!

I'd have to say that I agree about the interior temps - and all my windows are factory standard tint (or not). My Maverick is garaged at home, but I've parked in the sun quite a few times for several hours at a time, and I'm always surprised that it's cooler than expected inside the truck when I first enter. And, of course, 30 seconds later the AC has me shivering!

It's the ACS Forged from Leitner Designs. Pricey but absolutely the best-looking, best-built, strongest and most versatile rack system on the market today IMO.
