20 years ago I was a dude in nice clothes on a shitty November day leaving Indianapolis via I-70. I had a blowout and I managed to get across 5 or 6 lanes onto the berm, and next thing I know an ISP trooper is pulled behind me, with his lights on, blocking for me. He got out and talked to me while I changed it and watched out. His motive was safety, and I'll always remember that gesture.

I have seen many officers helping people with flat tires in my life. I feel like it is all just part of the changing perspective that officers aren’t just there to hassle you for doing something wrong. Goes along the lines of playing basketball with kids in the park, charity events, etc. the probation department in my city puts on a trunk or treat every year.
