XLT Lux Passenger seat problem

The only issue so far found is that the manual "6-way" passenger seat seems stuck and will not go up or down. I have made an appointment today for April 13. Has anyone with this problem found an easy fix?

A buddy couldn't get it to work while seated he's over 220lbs, I tried with no one in the truck and it worked fine. Still I don't think that's how it should function.
