My order came in after 10 months, should I accept it even with $995 dealer fee? They wont budge on it. They tried to pressure me into financing but I can buy it outright, added both contracts if you'd like to see.

Thanks!

Our dealer told us to be sure to keep the Order Sheet that we signed the day we placed the order and put down a $500 deposit. He said that is our price guarantee and we would need to show that if it came in with a different price on it. I don't know if that is true or not but did you sign a order form at the dealership? If so that could be your saving grace. Worth a try anyway.

Dealer Fee? What a scam. They are charging you for selling a brand new vehicle? This is why people don’t like dealerships.

I would buy it and finance it , then pay it off and if you don’t like it sell it , right now you can sell it for a minimum of 2 to 3 thousand more then you paid for it !!

I ordered from my local Autonation Ford and I specifically asked about dealer fees and they told me it is $995 and not negotiable.

I am super cheap, this is my first vehicle, but I do have 50k saved right now. The maverick fits my needs (mountain biking, maintaining house, two big dogs, commuter), and appears to be one of the cheapest options.

I guess I am just looking for confidence that I am getting an okay deal.
I wouldve walked. But that’s just me

You are in FL. Dealer fees used to be $699 and then increased to $1000. Most of the dealers also charge electronic filling fees around $200. I think the fees are about right for Florida. Some dealers will add cheap floor mats for $250 even on a car with all weather floor mats.
The reality is the dealerships need to make money to stay in business. They use to sell truck loads of vehicles every month, now they have nothing on there lots people are interested in. Therefore they will try to be creative getting you to buy what they can. Either options, added fees, extended warrantees, service contracts etc. It costs a lot to keep the lights on at a dealership.

I just checked mine as in in Central Florida and picked mine up a couple months ago. ZERO Dealer fees, $24 for electronic registration, and $90 for title, registration and lemon law fee so I'm pretty sure most of those fees are upcharged.
WOW! What dealer did you use?

Don't feel too badly for car dealers. As a taxpayer, you already paid a buttload of money to car dealers, churches you don't attend, and a whole lot more surprising entities.

My local, tiny, small-town Ford dealer received two forgiven "loans" totaling $992,000. Here is an example of 2 non-profit churches in Falls Church, VA. Check your area dealers at https://projects.propublica.org/coronavirus/bailouts/

Especially look up Bob Wondries in CA. They closed up with a bunch of pending Maverick orders. Here the full search link.

Cry me a river for stealerships trying to jack up the prices on customers after promising to people who have been waiting for months for their Mavericks that they wouldn't charge any ADM or required dealer add-ons.

Dealerships also can make money on servicing. If they treat their customers right, they will get repeat customers for routine maintenance. If they screw them over, the customer will rightly go to someone else for servicing, never go to the stealership again, and recommend to all their friends and family to steer clear of the thieves.

Dealerships reported record profits in 2022. Selling a dealership also returned record profits in 2022.

Average profit per vehicle sale in 2022 was up 180% compared to pre-pandemic. On average, per dealer profitability hit 7.1 million per dealership in 2022.

Don't believe the mis-information from dealers. They don't need to make more money to stay in business. While us average citizens are dealing with record inflation the dealers are breaking out the champaign and reaching into your wallet to pay for it. There are some good dealers, but too many opportunistic vultures.

Reward the dealers that are fair and let the greedy ones starve.

Mullinax in Apopka. On top of that, I got the Private Offer, X-Plan, and Student Rebate. My $36,200 sticker price came out to $34,000 AFTER taxes OTD. Not bad at all

I would if I were you. The $995 is crap but overall for getting it exactly how you wanted it and being brand new is worth it in my opinion. We made sure that whatever the price came out to when it was ordered was going to be the same with all the costs factored in except for the financing. We went all out cyber orange, hybrid and a lariat. Only thing we didn't get was the sun roof but in Texas where dirt, wind, and heat hardly ever let you really use it. My advice is to let them know you will let everyone you know as well as go on the internet to facebook, neighborhood app, yelp, etc. how they treated you. That may help you some....good luck and happy Mavericking!!
