Took that area apart and here are some photos. First is the orange rubber tray. Then there is only one area that could be open. The imprint of the charging pad is just imprinted in the plastic, it was not removeable. Did not see any usb port. But did find the transmission override switch. Pull the red cord and it puts it in neutral. Push it and it goes back into Park.

You want to pop the [bigger one] cover to the left of the one you popped ... it does have a little channel [towards the middle console/ shift dial] where you can use a [small] flat screwdriver to pop it open ... that's where you are going to find a wire bundle/ USB connector ... IF there is one ...

I just took a look at mine. That small cover he removed is the only one you're able to pry and remove without taking the whole center console piece off.

I don't have a vehicle myself but if that's not removable/ poppable then what appears to be an outline [on the Pics] is perhaps what is actually a cutout on the Lariat ... thanks for looking into it.

Yeah, they left that outline there just to tease us impoverished XL and XLT folks.

If you reread what I said, it is just imprinted on the plastic. There is nothing there to open. And if you look in the hole to the left, there is nothing under there either.

Awesome, thanks for taking those pictures. With my XLT, will probably be relocating the carplay USB port to near where the wireless charger would have been so that i can get rid of the ugly cords.

I agree. I just don't know why auto manufacturers haven't figured out to put the USB ports up near the top of the dash, behind the rear view mirror, or behind the touch screen so that you can plug in your accessories like cell phones, radar detectors, dash cams, or other chargers and don't have long cords everywhere in the way.

You mean like Ford did on the new Bronco?

I noticed nobody asked the root question. If it’s a USB port it comes from somewhere. Lariat schmariot, is the source of that plug in an XLT package?

I would think that the power source for the Lariat charging pad would be there unless they use totally different wiring bundles on each trim level 🤔
