Because I’m old and fairly new to social media posting, and etiquette. Just retired and getting the hang of things that have passed me by.

After you touch the reply you just start typing after the quote.

I'm 70. I try not to let stuff Pass Me By. It is too hard at my age to catch up.

.

The induction unit does not have a fan. Your phone does not have a fan, therefore it cycles on and off in order to control temperature.
Wireless charging is induction charging. Induction will cause heat, a lot of it. You can cook with induction.

Bob,
Just a question.
Why do you post a quote and then post separately why not combine them like this one?

Got it, you got 2 years on me so I guess I’ll try and catch up. How’s this?

My 2023 Lariat has the built in wireless charging. Yeah, my iPhone gets hot and seems to take a long time to charge. So, I just use an adapter and plug it into the 110v outlet and charge it that way.

So if I understand this correctly, it is not about t he built-in wireless charging that comes on Lariats, but is about a third party wireless charger that has to be plugged in. Why not just use a USB cable?

Do you always plug your phone in via USB? Or do you have a wireless charger at home/work?

Why not go wireless if you can?

Anyway, I ripped the "invisible charger" out of the truck. But I kept the wiring for it and just plug the cable for the phone charge into it. This seems to have done a few things for me:

1. Now my phone has "Super fast" charging. 🤷🏼‍♂️
2. I also have both USB ports open for other things.
3. And my phone now only connects wirelessly. So if I need to unplug my phone now, it won't disconnect Android Auto.

I might give the one above a chance later, but we are getting ready for a big camping trip, and that is taking up the priority right now.

I mainly (90%+) charge with a usb cable.

Wireless charges send radio waves through the air using unlicensed RF spectrum (the same spectrum your TV remote and wifi use). Lots of interference. Hence they take longer to charge.
