Windshield cracks often

Are you aware that the windshield on a Lariat cost $1300 if you have the Lux package, not sure if it's the same for trucks without lux package.

Ive replaced 2 on wrecked mavericks one xl at 700$ not my normal aftermarket guy but oem ford glass still .
Last one was a lariat soundscreen oem ford glass at $640 cash to my regular guys .

the MY22 lariat lux has heated windshield, they removed it after. you do need to use the OEM windshield because none of the aftermarket have the element. it's just at the lower edge, and I have never noticed any benefit from it to be honest.

anyway, I'm on my 3rd windshield with 45k miles and I've got a diamon fusion protective resin coating on it. the dealership offers it with a 5 year repair or replacement warranty and obviously they're losing their ass on mine.

I think the coating actually does help, I've had some strikes at 70+ that barely made a mark.

but the second windshield took a hit from a 1" or so rock kicked up by a semi and it made a nice crater.

I have the same coating on my wife's Bronco but with only 6k miles on it I think it might actually survive the 5 year contract. we will see. and no - I don't tailgate. most strikes are from traffic going the opposite direction on a 2 lane highway.

I have a 22 Maverick, I have had to put 3 windshield in and 5 small cracks repaired. Anyone else having issues? Just fyi I don't tail gate. This from other cars passing from opposite sides

I have a 22 XL with one chip that has never spread since 12-21. No new windshield yet.

Good to know, Ford parts dept told me it was $1300 for a windshield with the heated wipers option.

Yeah i checked on sound screen one a while back , and my cost is 600 or so . Wholesale buyers , 3rd party glass guys are around $500 or so , cant see the heated option costing much more than a hundred more. So you should be able to find someone in the freelance club to do it around $700-800
