With the Ascent's traction control off and the transmission in manual mode "1st gear" you can keep the revs up for great donuts. Same thing in my '16 CrossTrek...that was the best at snownuts! Manual transmission and minimal interference from the nannies was a great combo. 4wd donuts feel cool too! Lots of snownuts fun as a teen in my 2wd Dodge Dakota and later in my S-10. The RAV4 freaks out and cuts throttle as soon as you get any degree of sideways. Those Toyota lawyers had a lot of influence! No chance in hell a RAV4 has better AWD than an Ascent's symmetric full-time AWD system.
Not sure how you're pulling your "snownuts" but RWD is the drivetrain you're looking for. Even with the "nannies" turned off it's just FWD, single wheel, and not that impressive for "snownuts"
