looking at some different options for upgrading to 18's on my '25 AWD Hybrid & wondering if anyone has tried to fit a 235/60 18 as a spare?
what about a 235/65 18?

That depends if you have a hitch and or if you're willing to do some dental work on the teeth. I have a hitch and this is my original 225/65/r17 as the spare. I had to let out a few psi and snug it up tight. It barely fits with no teeth modifications.

If I were "preloading the bite" like that, any time I even thought I might have had a bump to it offroad or had a chance of highway debris tapping it, I would check it ASAP after.

It was definitely a concern which I mentioned in my original post as well. It's hard to tell in the picture but the teeth aren't touching the tire, they fit in the tire groove. I'm not into off-roading and if I ever hit road debris, I would check under my vehicle regardless of my spare tire size. That being said, I still periodically check the psi manually just like the rest of my tires. No issues so far but if that changes, I'll update my post.

Same here. The teeth barely touch the tire and the tire is secure when cranked up. Even if it did move when truck is bouncing around, it still would be nothing compared to what a tire sees when on the surface of the road.

Glad to hear that and I agree. If you ever have issues keep me posted and I might reevaluate things. I'll gladly do the same as it is a slight concern and something I'll keep my eye on. Being stuck on a trip, in the middle of nowhere and on the weekend with that motorcycle tire would be more of a concern to me.
