I don't use the WiFi hotspot in my '22 XLT and have disabled it in settings in the Infotainment system. However, it keeps re-enabling itself somehow. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a way to keep it from turning back on? Is it possible to physically disconnect the hotspot without messing with any other functionality?

I prefer to keep the wifi off because it seems to interfere with my aftermarket wireless carplay adapter. It is hard to prove/verify but wireless carplay seems to connect quicker and be less flaky when the wifi hotspot is turned off.

Not sure if it is related, but I've also noticed my ambient light setting seems to change itself as well. It keeps getting shut off somehow.

Possibly and update "feature". Mine did this as well after and update and if yours is set to automatic updates it could be the cause.

Or... ya know... Just crappy SYNC issues of which there are many. Thankfully my EB has been ok but my previous Escape had all sorts of issues. I've only had to hard reset once so far in 6 months with the Maverick.

Are you sure you have wifi hotspot? Ford cancelled it years ago and only a few early 22s have it. Are you paying a monthly fee to Att? If not, I don't think it can have any effect (if you actually have it) on Carplay.

As to the ambient lighting. Have you have updated the Sync3 software to the latest version?

I don't pay for a data plan, so maybe it isn't technically a hotspot, but it is a WiFi radio of some kind. It is under "Wifi Settings" in the infotainment system. e.g. I can connect the Maverick to my iPhones hotspot, or to the Wifi in my house if I am parked close enough to the house. I assume if I payed for a data plan I could use it has a hotspot, although I have no intention of doing that. I ran the software update a couple of months ago, I'll check and see if there is another update I can run. Currently, I have G2.2.0.1_R23021A installed.

It's most likely set on the auto update setting that another member mentioned. And anytime it picks up a Wi-Fi signal whether you be at home or maybe in front of some business that has free Wi-fi it might pop up

Correct. It is not a Hotspot. Just wifi which is normally useful to update the software for the vehicle when you are parked at your house. (Note: Some updates are much better performed using a thumb drive.) Our trucks are different so I don't know if you have the latest update. The latest "Build" for a '23 Hybrid is #23188 (Year 2023. 188th day of the year). You can easily check by entering your VIn here https://www.ford.com/support/sync-maps-updates/?gnav=header-support
