1600 miles in with my '24 XLT. I'm just now messing with the Android audio. It does not like to stay connected. Likewise with the USB port and mp3s on a thumb drive. Both work fine but will randomly disconnect at times with no Rhyme or reason. Any suggestions for a fix out there?

Android Auto comes out with updates for the phone all the time. If you don't update the phone to the latest version eventually it will cut off the connection between the truck and your phone.

Also if the phone drops gps connection Android auto will drop the connection between the phone and truck. Heavy trees, tunnels, of phone location in the truck can cause your phone to drop gps.

Try a known quality cable. Either from your phone manufacturer or a company like ANKER. Same for the USB stick. Also try using the other port, which of course, will also require a different cable.

Maybe same issues but with apple car play, dealer replaced (media hub) and all issues went away!

Sounds like a few other folks who had issues with the actual truck USB ports. Cables or connectors were bad.

I'd figure out how to replicate issues with a USB thumb drive first, Android Auto adds extra complex issues the dealership won't know what to do with. But if you can show it's the USB and not the Android Auto, may help to get some help.

Had to have my USB port replaced under warranty.

agree had cheap cable had same problem, make sure you have the latest software updates and get a good cable. Reboot everything.

My suspicion is that the USB port is defective as others have stated they have seen. I'm using a known to be good cable and everything is updated. Even if it was the cable then I wouldn't be having the same problem with the USB port and the MP3 thumb drive. I even bought a wireless adapter off of Amazon that did work but cut out just the same as the wired connection. I guess when I'll go in for 10k service I'll ask the dealer about it under warranty.

The only time I've had connection issues with Android Auto in my Mav, it was due to a poor quality/worn USB cable.
