Why i dont use the service engine light for oil change

This thing is a joke! Changed my oil in march,drove it about 400 miles and its been parked since middle of april.today,decided to see if the app showed anything about recall.no problems but says my oil life is 12% and it needs servicing.this is why i change my own engine oil

How did you reset the oil level for the app if you changed the oil yourself? Genuinely curious

and the app may or may not be the same as what is in the truck. I think the app "polls" the truck to see how it's doing but on the app for another car the app and the car frequently didn't match.

But ya. You need to follow certain steps there in the instrument cluster to "reset" the reminder.

Just browse to the Oil Life screen (steps vary based on which cluster you have) and hold down OK on the steering wheel, it even tells you to hold OK to reset...

It was not reset after your previous oil change..

Just reset mine after an oil change today. It takes awhile for it to update in Fordpass but in the Truck it now shows 100%.

Well,being a old old man i still write anything done to my vehicles down in a composition note book and oil change milage on a sticker on the windshield!

Or just do it yourself, you literally just need to hold down the OK button on the Oil Life screen on the instrument cluster..

Well, I guess if the place doing the oil change doesn’t reset it then yea. But I’ve. Ever had an oil change and they didn’t do it. I guess it depends on where you go. Either way.

Just checked Fordpass again and it is now showing 100% Oil Life remaining. Should be good to at least January since I’m not planning any more road trips for the remainder of this year. Did my Tire rotation early this morning before the temperature reached 80 degrees but I was still sweat soaked!!
