I didn't know Ford upped the capacity in the new model year unill I read the OP. So I did some research and Ihave narrowed it down to a larger oi pan or a larger filter. I found nothing about the oil pan (that must be the culprit). Their is a different spec on oil filter for the 25. I found that the FL2127 (may be the wrong number) is exactly the same size as the FL910s, but there is a difference in the thread spacing, so be aware. Threads are very important.

My old 7.3 diesel holds 16 quarts. When you change the oil you need to put a minimum of 1 quart in the filter before you install it (it holds 2 quarts) as that's greatly reduces the run time before it builds pressure. When you refill you only put 15 quarts back in, and that includes what you put in the filter. There is about a quart you can't drain.

I have not yet changed the oil in our 23 Edge or the 24 Maverick, so I don't know exactly what will fill them. Someone on here will know. I like Wix filters, but Wix and Motorcraft are both made by the same German company. Watched a guy cut apart both on Youtube and they are nearly identical. Why is their a capacity difference, IDK.

Right, i was under the assumption that the engine was mostly the same so i was surprised when i saw the difference - if you look around some of the other ford engines (mostly the 2.3s EB) they were updated in the same way a few years ago. The 2024s are unchanged though. I actually went down the rabbit whole when i was trying to find a compatible oil filter and O'Reillys listed the 910s and 2127 - but the Ford manual only lists the 2127 (and so does rockauto).

I actually checked it out and i can reach all the screws - which are metal and take very little force to remove - without lifting the car as long as i slide around on my garage floor (not doing it on bare concrete) and the oil container can fit under as well but it might be a little messy.

I still think I'm going to the dealer for this first one and kick the can down the road to the end of the year when I'm due for the next oil change at ~5k miles.

Edit: Local dealer did full synthetic it for 15.6k points ($76) which is expensive but it was free. Should be able to do the first two oil changes because there's nothing I'm ever going to buy from the Ford store.

The major change is that previous 2.0 was only direct fuel injections and carbon build up will occur on the intake valves because fuel does (not) wash over them.

The new 2025 is port and direct injected which will reduce or eliminate the carbon build up issues.
Added the missing word you intended.

From what was advertised the 2025 EB lost a few HP from 250 to 238...Anyone else can confirm?
The whole 238 hp thing is overrated, it has to do with the Gas Particulate Filter that limits the HP due to emissions, but if Ford does put it into the 2.0 Ecoboost, it won't do it until Job 3 sometime in the summer, for now all Ecoboost engines are rated at 250hp the reason why they are saying it now is because at some point if they do it, they don't have to change the marketing on the horsepower
