White Powder Coat Steelies

Oh man, I love the steelies. It’s one reason I actually did not opt for the XLT.

My wife would probably kill me but the white powder coat would look great with my velocity blue XL…

Unpopular opinion but I am a big fan of steel wheels and was always planning on powder coating them gloss white to give them that old school Toyota FJ, Defender safari vibe. Just had them done and wanted to post in case anyone else wanted to see what it would look like. I also have bigger tires, and RokBlokz rally mud flaps. Happy to answer any questions.

Oddly, these look great! I wouldn’t have thought to do them white but they look great!

$160 per wheel. This included demounting, sanding, powder coating, remounting and balancing.

I like the look. To me white wheels are like black vehicles....they look great clean.

Ceramic brake pads.

Very little dust, and the dust they do produce tends to be a lightish gray instead of brown. Use some turtle or meguires ceramic spray on the wheels, and washes off easy.

I think they might look okay on a white truck but other than that, not so much in my opinion. But if you like it that's all that counts.

I also love the steelies and have been debating what color to paint them. I was in-between gun metal or s bronze. But now I might steal this look for my area 51 Maverick!
