You wont regret having the extra headroom of the MX. Also if you like a finished look, get it with the liner. Dont get the clothes hangers, lights you can wire up yourself for 1/2 price. Absolutely get the roof rail tracks even if you dont want to get cross bars yet. You can use the rail/track nuts on the inside of the topper to make mount for hanging things. I highly reccomend the windoors and wish I got them on both sides. If you have the back window slider the ARE one matches it pretty nice and is just the right size for a dogs head.

We needed a cap for our camping gear, haven't noticed any difference in the gas mileage on the hybrid, the cap was purchased from Cap World, not the Ford dealer, my salesman has a Maverick too and wanted to see how it looked, hence the pics outside Coggins DeLand Ford. I haven't experienced the "Poke in the Eye" like the guy showing his Leer cap.

Great look, I like your sticks but don’t care for the ARE stick in the middle of the glass. I am considering this topper, in your opinion how difficult to remove that sticker? Is it a vinyl stick on or silk screen painted?

thanks

Damn fine look! Great photo juxtaposed in front of the rusty steel/bridge work.

I would rate the difficulty of removal of the ARE sticker on a new cap at 1/10. So only slightly more difficult than understanding or typing that previous sentence. Close your eyes, pinch a corner and peel.

That was back when she was a newborn, and we stopped in St Louis.

I'm considering removing it too, looks like it can be pealed off with a single edge razor blade in a holder, like taking a bumper sticker off glass, then use car wax to remove the rest of the glue.

I like the canopy. I dislike it leaking from around the bed. It goes back tomorrow for .......whatever they need to do to it. The headliner wraps around the bottom, which then absorbs water and wicks it up causing the interior to stay wet. Ford really f'ed up the bed design as it relates to installing these and keeping them from leaking.

Looks really nice, BUT... I don't think there is any way to keep water out of the bed. 😔 REALLY POOR DESIGN by Ford.
I did my own little water infiltration test. Water will run on the tracks on the roof, down behind the vertical trim, and into the bed. I built my own plywood tonneau cover and used weatherstripping on the
perimeter, (because I couldn't justify $200 -$400 for a piece of vinyl), but splurged $420 for the Bedrug liner. Was kind of heartbroken when I discovered it would keep getting wet every time it rained (it was raining every other day for a couple weeks). That's when I figured out why there were SO MANY drain holes in the bed of the truck. I ended up taking the Bedrug out...

This cap definitely has the "chopped" look to it.

So I had a interesting observation the other day. As is often the case the front of my bed was a lil wet, the dogs dont care one bit. But I remembered that between parking in our carport and it not raining it shouldnt have been. But then I realized it was from the AC in the cab. Its so humid here that the front wall of the truck bed condenses so much that water runs down it.

So the topper leaks about as much as you will get from the AC cranking. Did ford mess up that front lip, ohh hell yes. But they also messed up that wall aswell. I think as this truck was kindof a experiment by ford, they should be able to sort out this issue by the time a new model comes out whenever that is.

I still think a piece of high density foam cut to fit and wedged at the top would fix 99% of the leak. But it hasnt bothered me enough to care yet.

I used 4" to seal the gap between the cab and the shell, I purchased the 6" to hopefully keep the leak to a minimum but I have a white truck, Amazon has a black for under the mobile home but don't know if it's waterproof.
