$50 comp deductible on your insurance about the same wheel locks.

I'd be more worried about the damage thieves are likely to do improperly jacking the car up than the loss of the wheel itself, you know most of them probably aren't aiming for a prime jacking spot and don't care what gets bent or damaged.

I'm fortunate that around here wheel theft isn't a big thing + most of the time I'm parked in my garage. I agree with others though, locking lug nut if you want and maybe some sort of camera. Ultimately you can't stop criminals from doing crime so just give yourself as many advantages as you can and try not to stress about it I suppose.

So today we wake up to find my roommate's wheels taken off of her car and her car just laying on the ground, 5 spots away from my car. We live in a middle class suburb.

Well my brand new truck is suppose to come in in like 10 days. I am nervous AF right now.

What are the odds of a repeat offender to our parking spot? Do any of you take extra precautions to try and prevent wheel theft (i think getting a boot or two would be obnoxious, but honestly what my roommate has to deal with is so awful).

Do you think the Mav will be target for theft?

Does anyone really want my steelies enough to steal them?

Please no unhelpful comments about "you need to get a garage" or "move to a different place".
I would not worry with the steelies, in fact I say that works in your favor. I have the base wheels on the xlt trim maverick and I’ve thought of this issue as well. But I think with steelies you should be more off the radar. Knock on wood

I'm more worried about catalytic converter theives but I'll be picking up some wheel lock lugs once the truck arrives
Thieves stole my catalytic converter off m f150 in a commuter lot.

Car Alarm? With the most obnoxious warning and volume set to highest level and motion sensor on most sensitive setting. Won't make you any friends in the building if it goes off all the time, but you will be doing everyone a favor if it scares off thieves looking for an easy quick hit with little chance of being caught. If you have line of sight from your window you can easily see if it is false alarm and disable with your remote. Down here in SW CO we have gun racks in the back window and "Protected by Smith & Wesson" stickers that seems to help ;)

Locking wheel nuts are all but useless. With a toothed reverse twist socket they can be taken off as fast as the regular lugnut.

When in doubt add wheel lock lock nuts

Yes if somebody really wants your wheels they'll take them lock nuts or not

i have an XL so feel ZERO worries about my wheels. however my tailgate had been giving me anxiety! i think thieves will have a quick solution for the locking handle in a very short order. then it's silent, simple, quick and a major PIA to replace. ford makes them simple to remove for our benefit but that makes it easy for thieves too.
i installed a worm gear clamp around the right side pivot hoping that will be enough of an additional deterrent.

Isn't there some small kit to put around the tailgate hinge to protect it from getting stolen?

That and all the wheel lock keys from a given brand are the same. That means if someone really wants your wheels they just go to the dealer, get a set with the key and take your wheels.

There is, but i didnt hear the greatest feedback. It works like the "hose clamp" i used but without leaving an exposed screwdriver fitment. I guess i'm hoping a thief will give up before he takes the time to survey the situation after it wont detach (like it had the additional lock) and go back for lighting and a long screwdriver to remove the clamp if he recognizes it....
