Yes, all very good, and if you drive like my GF (WOT) you need good traction, etc.Tread wear, traction and temperature are printed on every tire sold in America. Most of these “tests” are no doubt under ideal conditions but they are a baseline. If your tires don’t include these you shouldn’t buy them. Even the cheapest Chinese tires have these ratings. Tread wear will be represented by a UTOQ 500 (500 generally meaning 50,000 mile warranty) a 100 or less will be for a high performance (sticky) tire. UTOQ 600-700 would usually be for highway tires. Temperature ratings are simple A,B,C A represents the best temperature resistance (tires generate heat as they roll down the road). Traction ratings are generally by the type of tire, ie; AT, AS, highway, mud terrain etc. And just as an fyi the 3 peak mountain snowflake symbol is kind of a joke. The “testing” to achieve this rating is ridiculously simple. It must prove better traction than a typical mud/snow rated tire. Lots of gray area there. A “severe snow rated tire may not have a UTOQ tread wear rating due to the very soft rubber compound. While I don’t work in the tire industry I consider myself a fairly well educated tire geek

But still, no rubber longevity rating for hostile climates. If you lived in Tucson and drove like my avatar when the sun is shining, all those other ratings put together wouldn't really matter as much as climate durability.Sponsored
