My 2023 Hybrid Lariat is still missing. It's now 100 days since it was loaded on a rail car. I stopped in the dealer today and while chatting with them jokingly said that the truck will be ready for it's first oil change before I even get it.

After I left I got to thinking, the truck was built 3 months ago and has been sitting ever since. So, what do I look for if it ever gets delivered?

Battery? I'm guessing the 12v is dead completely. Does that mean it needs replaced? How about the HV battery? is this going to cause it harm?

Engine? It can't be good to have just sat for 3 months. Fluids? I don't know what else?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking I need to go over this thing with a fine-tooth comb before I accept it. Or am I worrying about nothing?

Keep us posted. Sucks that it is sitting somewhere and you can't have it

I think there is a section in the manual about what to do if you need to store the vehicle for an extended period. Maybe it has some clues about things to check??

Does your dealer know where it is and why it has not been delivered?

At delivery you’ll meet the person that sells service plans...be aware of that.

Thanks, that is a very good suggestion. Although in this case none of the normal storage precautions would have been done. So I'm left picking up after instead of being pre-emptive.

Yes. They have been following it regularly and updating me. But it has been stuck at the Portland, Oregon rail depot since January 23rd. At least that is where Ford reports it as being.

Already met him. All of my paperwork is finished. I was going to be out of town when it was supposed to be delivered over a month ago so I went in and got everything signed to make sure they were not tempted to find an alternative buyer. :)

And they were really great about all the adds-ons. Showed me a list and said if I was interested in any of them they were available. If not, please sign here that we offered you all this stuff and you were not interested. Honestly one of the best buying experiences I have ever had with a vehicle. Except the vehicle is still missing. :)

Man that is the worst... knowing its built, its made its train journey, and is just sitting in a trainyard waiting for a ride. Mine sat in a train yard for an agonizing 3 weeks before getting picked up, can't imagine waiting 2 months knowing its so close. Hope all is well with the vehicle and that it gets picked up soon!
