Hello, I’m looking at ordering Maverick Hybrid when orders open back up this August.
I have never ordered a vehicle or had to deal with a dealer with an order before.

Any advice or tips people can give to help me with the process, is most appreciated.

What should I look out for about a dealer that I shouldn’t order from them or any games they will possibly play?

Do you pay deposit at the time of ordering ? If so how much should it be, not what dealers want it to be ?

I also have a trade in, so I’m not sure how that works if truck won’t be delivered for months. I would also be financing so do I get approved for the truck at ordering ? Or wait until truck actually arrives?
Read this forum... Would be a good start

A stripped down model will arrive sooner than a nicely equipped model. Usually lol

Order what you want realizing more options equals a longer wait.

Not sure why your gave this answer I own two hybrid vehicles. I guess my question is; how does Ford sell a vehicle when they don’t have enough hybrid engines
They can't, and therein lies the problem. Demand far outstrips supply in the current supply chain environment and that will likely continue well into 2023 and possibly beyond. $5+ gas is only going to exacerbate the problem.

This is a long haul vehicle in the waiting process. Order what you want or you will never be 100% satisfied if you "settle" for less. If you are in a hurry for a vehicle, then you really should be looking elsewhere.

It appears that Ford grossly underestimated demand for the hybrid. When they were getting ready to launch the Maverick gas (in the US) was under $2.50/gallon. Average now is over $4.75 and higher in some places.
Note that the standard engine on the Maverick is the hybrid. They now have a much better idea of what the demand is and should do a better job next year. If you want the hybrid order the hybrid, just be prepared to wait.
I am ordering the hybrid, because that's what I want. If it takes a year then it takes a year I have no pressing need for a new vehicle. If you do need a new vehicle soon, well you might want to rethink this.
Thanks for your answer. I own two hybrids now; and liked the look of the Maverick. I am in no hurry. If it takes 6-8 months thats ok

One of the most important things to do is research your dealer very well, avoid the scum bags adding ADM on orders.

Many dealers are requiring a deposit, otherwise anyone can walk in and place frivolous orders they no intention of buying. I paid $500 down, seemed reasonable to me.

I paid cash for my Mav so not sure about the financing aspect, but I would talk to your dealer about it when you place the order, same with your trade.

My Hybrid took 10 months from ordering to receiving it, worth the wait IMO.
