Yesterday I read on this forum, that the 2 lens for the cargo bed light over the rear window, are melting the light cover. Does anyone know what bulb to install to replace the ones that get hot if left on to long?

I ordered the Lasfits based on a recommendation from another member. They wont be here until monday, I am hoping these are right and am looking forward to seeing the difference.
I ordered the whites for cargo: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081YL2Q2W?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
I am also changing out the 3rd brake light since I will have it apart, I went with a red bulb, there is a warning on Amazon that it doesn't fit but according to Lasfit it will: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081YJWBR9?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

They are 912 or 921 socket base
The difference between bulbs is wattage
Just search for a 921 led bulb

I installed the Lasfit LEDs in my brake and cargo lamp, so far all's good.

FWIW, you can get a decent LED aftermarket third brake light for cheaper than what it would cost to change all the bulbs in the stock one.

921/912 T15 W16W trunk cargo bulbs.
Just go to there site and put your year, make and model and it will give you all Maverick options for bulbs.

This is exactly what I did.

Another vote for the Lasfits, they're the only ones that haven't failed me within a month or two. Mine are still going strong I used the kit that includes two white LEDs for the cargo lights and two red LEDs for the third brake light which you need only one so it leaves you a spare in the pack.

They were a snug fit with the short wires on the cargo light but they do fit and work perfectly, I've been using them since October last year and they're still working fine. I paid under 19.00 with a coupon offered on amazon.

I just did this same exact swap last week and the cargo lights are much brighter than stock. The Lasfits reviews of their stuff makes it seem as if these aren't going to last a lifetime like I hope, but time will tell. Great/easy upgrade so far, but @Suzukiridr14 a word of advice if you haven't done the bulb replacement yet...I and many others on this forum have had issues with the cheap plastic press in threads that anchor the third brake light's four unnecessarily long screws. I had one of the screws spin inside the plastic piece and turned this from a five minute to a twenty minute job. I bought a pack of these and they fit perfect as replacements. I highly recommend replacing all four that Ford installed and give these a try for when you inevitably have to work with the third brake light down the road.
