My township in WI uses crushed limestone on the road in winter and it's beating the heck out of panels, below the seam on the doors. I already have mud flaps, but they apparently are only partially effective. Thanks

I think they're ugly as hell but some deep pocket fender flares might help. Ford's part # is VNZ6Z16268B

Thanks for the suggestions. My township spreads this on our asphalt roads in the winter, instead of salt. Some of the stones are relatively large and sharp edged. No way not to drive on them.

I thought about taping the low areas off and spraying them with bed liner. Is this a stupid idea?

Just put a high quality PPF strip on that area. It can be replaced as needed and as it wears later.

good luck

I’ve usex a variety of methods over the years, depending on the vehicle and my needs at the time. Running boards, nerf bars (probably not available for a Mav?), larger mud flaps, spray-on bedliner along the bottom (often in a contrasting color for a two-tone look), Just make sure drain holes stay open if doing spray in bedliner.
