Good evening all, first post here. Sorry if this has been discussed, I couldn't find a recent topic here if so.
Does anyone know what STOP SHIP means when pertaining to Mavericks that have missed their original delivery dates?
Long story short, my Maverick was scheduled to be delivered last week, first new truck of my whole life and I'm 68! Well, my dealer just called today to inform me that my delivery time is now late and likely unknown even though my Maverick has already been built and shipped. When my dealer checked the status, there's a note reading: STOP SHIP. I guess several of their built Mavericks have updated to show this same note in their system. I don't know how many that is or what the delay is but my salesman didn't sound very confident giving any more information than that and an apology for the delay. He's a bright youngman and has been very prompt on updating me, usually he's emailed me the day before I even get the official update from Ford. He knew this truck in and out when I stopped in to order it late June. Anways, he just said he hasn't seen this before and it has me a little concerned since he's usually just been sharp as an arrow with this whole process. There is a new date range in their system but he made it sound like it could be inaccurate just as the first was. I stopped in there this afternoon just to say hello and reassure him I knew it wasn't any of his fault. We got to talking and he pulled up and showed my order status looked like on his end. I pointed out the rail car number from the last update, he did a quick search on how to trace the car, and to our surprise, the rail car is moving along. We thought how could this be. Either my Maverick has already been dropped off somewhere and the rail cars moved on to other work, or somehow it's currently several states away despite shipping 5 weeks ago, or this rail car is going to make it's way all the way back down to Mexico for my Maverick to be loaded on and try again. We were just scratching heads on that one. He's going to keep checking in on the rail car and on the status of my order. I will post updates here as I learn more. If anyone here knows what this is or how much of a delay we could be talking about please share.
Thank you,
-Mark
My Maverick is a Lariat AWD with tow package and luxury package. I'm very excited to get it.
