My son and I ride e-bikes. I was wondering what hitch mount bike rack everyone is using? There seems to be a bunch of them out there! Our bikes weigh between 50-55 lbs each and are both the step through models w/o a top bar. I've seen name brands like Thule and Yakima, and others I've never heard of. I'm not looking to spend a small fortune on them.

I'm not a fan of the tailgate cover nor a fan of the Ford hack to remove the front wheel and mount the fork on a quick release mechanism.

I have a 2020 Trance E+1 Pro. I use the Pipeline rack, couple Al ramps and tie it down with 2 straps, like a motorcycle. Back tire rest on down tailgate. Works great. Great bike.

That really looks like a fantastic solution! What size rack did you buy?

Did you make your own aluminum ramp, or buy one?

I had my rack in my 2008 Sports Trac. Received my Maverick on Friday. It's been weathered in for a few. Plan on putting my rack in today. I got the double, only put one on. I got these ramps from Amazon -
Smartxchoices 7.5' Folding Truck Ramps Aluminum 2 PC 1500 lbs Capacity Trailer Loading Ramps Trucks w/Straps for ATV UTV Motorcycle Snow Blower Lawn Mower Pickup .
They were perfect...strong and light.
I'll make sure everything fits. Today.

1up is the best hitch mounted bike rack
I noticed that they now have a ramp option so you can roll your bike onto the rack
The racks are super beefy and last forever
They are also modular which can be awesome if you aren’t carrying the same number of bikes all the time

Wow. Nice rack. When I was looking 2 years ago, the weight limit on hitch racks was 35lbs. I adapted with the pipeline -in-the-bed rack. I did not like putting a multiple thousand dollars hanging on the back of my truck for gravel or bumps. Might be good for a Schwinn, tho.

Nice rack! That’s like the scene in Dumb and Dumber where he says, “nice hooters.” Sometimes MTC delivers unintentionally.

We have a pair of dual hub motor, full-suspension, fat bikes; they weigh ~100lbs. each with both batteries (70-75lbs. with batteries taken out). After a ton of research and recommendations we decided on https://www.walmart.com/ip/Fultyme-RV-1300-Hitch-Mount-2-Bike-Rack-200-lbs-Capacity/692554514. If you go on e-bike forums, this rack is mentioned over and over again as a rack that is simply rebranded by name brands, with tons of people having good experiences. We have yet to use it as our truck has arrived yet, so I can't give a review quite yet. We will use extra tie downs when using.

They're a bit pricey but the 1UP racks are by far the best racks I've used. I work in the bike industry and I've had multiple different racks over the years.

Thanks! My e-bikes have fenders. I wonder if this rack will work?

I agree, have the 2" HD rack and it works great. However for OP's portly bikes they won't work as 1up HD has a 50lbs per bike limit. Super duty 50-75 per bike. 1up does have fender adaptors though if they were within weight.

OP don't overlook Mavericks tongue weight limit of 400lbs!

This will be the third year and the second vehicle for the rack. Worked today as I took the bike for its spring check up. Solid, well built, adapts.
