Wait, your signature says you ordered Carb. That really is the best color to not show dirt...
I already have an Ingot silver Mustang. I originally ordered my Maverick in silver but changed it to carbonized grey because I didn’t want 2 silver vehicles but yes silver hides the dirt best imo.

What color would hide road dirt and dust the best? I live on a gravel road and it always dusty. I like Alto Blue and Cyber Orange the best.
The lighter the color the better it will hide (most) dirt, generally speaking. Alto blue will be one of the worst since it is nearly black. I thought it was black when I drove one. Maintaining the paint surface with regular washing and waxing or, ceramic coating, greatly helps in keeping a vehicle clean and gives the paint longevity. Been doing this for decades so I speak from experience. Some of the auto car washes, especially touchless, are the worst offenders due to the harshness of the chemicals used to remove dirt……and your wax.

I have a white (tri-coat metallic) Ford Fusion and the one major benefit of white is it hides dents very well. Mine has hail damage but you really have to look to see it, most people dont notice. The same damage on a black or darker color would look terrible. But for this truck im probably gonna go with Cactus Grey, the white looks too work truck for my tastes.
The car got totalled for hail damage and I just pocketed the check (minus buy back from ins)... which, after Fed and State credits for PHEV and dealer taking 15k(!) off sticker for being clueless about plugins basically made the car free.

Does silver really hide the dirt well or is it that everyone is just used to seeing tarnish on their silver?

Gray or White
Owned mostly white vehicles, and nothing shows dirt more than white. White is just good at hiding swirl marks and water spots and the like.

Its basically just which color contrasts the most or the least with brown mud and dirt.

Best color for hiding dirt is dirt color, but Ford doesn't offer any browns or tans, so pepper red mabye?

Beige but good luck finding that color on any car , SUV or truck . cactus grey on the maverick . definitely not white . I owned a white car and always looked dirty . I have 51 and no opinion on it yet . it is garaged only 200 miles .

Definitely not the Alto Blue.

Silver does well.

I think the color of dirt in your given area of the country also influence preferences. Some areas have a more red soil, some have brown, some have mostly sand, etc.

In northern snow climates you have to also consider the dreadful gray/white salt "dirt" for 4~6 months of the year (ah yes, I live in snowy Chicago suburbs). A light of medium brown vehicle hides the dirt/dust well here (Maverick doesn't offer such color), but nothing matches during snowy months. If we get multiple snow storms in quick succession the roads turn dull white with calcium products.

My Lariat Hybrid order is currently HPR which I'd like during non-snow months. I've changed my mind color-wise numerous times since ordering, but haven't called the dealer yet.

Decisions, decisions...sadly I probably still have multiple months to make the final call.

No idea, but the easiest color to hide scratches and stuff is black.

Mine ! But it's not available on the Maverick.
Funny thing about my truck styling... I do try to keep it clean, but IMPO, it almost looks like its supposed to have some mud on it :) lol

Oh, and if the Maverick were going to be mine, I would definitely have to get a custom color matching badge.. like I have on my F150... But it will be for my GF so... The one we have on her Kia Soul is pretty cool though too. It uses the same font, but instead of "KIA" it has her name, "GIA" :) lol I wonder how many people even notice it though ?
